I am thinking about doing a remote littler box eventually, but I have a few questions.
First off, Koda has been pooping in the same exact corner of his cage since I got him. Will he take to the remote box on his own? He is so good about potty habits I don't want to ruin it!
Secondly, is there a particular box that you guys use that fits just right under the FN cage (without cutting the bottom shelf off)? And if it is too short I imagine he will not use it?
Is a clear box or colored (dark) box better?
Lastly, what is the best way to cut just the right sized hole in the box plastic? I used a plexi glass scoring knife to cut a hole in his new feeding den, but it was difficult and uneven. lol And what are the best materials to attach? I have 2 holes in the cage to work with (one on each level) that have the Super Pet FerretTrails tunnel attachment things on them (I will have to try to get pics later), and I am thinking black tunnel - the ribbed drainage 4' tubes from the hardware store - because I imagine regular smooth PVC would be too difficult to climb up/down. lol
Thanks!

Ideally the best thing you can do is cut a hole in the side of the FN close to where he potties, then blocking the corner where he used to potty off with a brand new comfy bed.

I'm no help here. I have yet to use a remote litter box on a FN. I used a different cage when I had my RLitterbox. As for will he use it if its too short. If its shorter then the box shown in the pics it should be okay, but not so short that he has to duck to go to the bathroom. If you plan on doing this, get measurements of the bottom of the FN for height, length, depth, and width. Write those down and then head to Target or Walmart and measure some boxes lol.

I say clear because if its a dark box then he's going to want to curl up and sleep in there, not potty.
Lastly, what is the best way to cut just the right sized hole in the box plastic? I used a plexi glass scoring knife to cut a hole in his new feeding den, but it was difficult and uneven.
Its okay if its uneven and jagged. I cut my plastic bin with a warm steak knife lol! If you look at the pictures I posted of the remoted litterbox you will see I attached a black....um thingy (sorry I dont know what it is called) to the hole and attached the tube to that so that jagged part wasn't a problem (if this makes no sense, I'm sorry. I suck at descriptions and its 3:26am here lol)

Imo the black ribbed tunnel works best. It allows them to climb because its ribbed and the ribbed part conveniently catches any loose litter that is stuck to their paws before they get back into the cage and onto their bedding. How nice!
Hope my late night response helps you somewhat lol.

Well I don't want to/can't cut any more holes in the cage, but there are already 2 holes in the side of the cage, one on the top level, one on the bottom (FN142). The hole is in the front corner though by where I put his food, and he poops in the back corner... Is the space between the shelf and bottom level tall enough to have a few inches (1-3) of litter and still give him plenty of room? I have stuff stored under there, so I have never really tried seeing hos tall he is compared to that space. Has anyone tried? Yes, very much. I know all about late night responses. haha Most of mine are, so I learn to decipher them pretty well too. Kind of how my handwriting is so terrible that I can read other people's bad handwriting. Thank you.
