Well this is my third post, and my other two haven't had any replies. I'm hoping some one will have some kind of an answer to this new question of mine =P. How long does it usually take for a member to get matched up with a mentor?

It all depends Brittany. We only have so many mentors, and many, many applicants However, people are graduating on a regular basis, so, maybe a month or two? Just a guesstimate, though. In the interim, post in the newbie section, raw section, or whole prey. We'll be on to answer questions as soon as we can!

Hey Brittany Sherrylynne is right. The problem that we've encountered is that we lost a number of mentors, so we have more people that want to switch their ferrets than we have mentors. The easiest idea at the moment, while you're waiting is to start yourself a thread, similar to this one, use it to get the whole forum to answer many of your questions and get yourself started. Read through the existing mentoring threads, check out the graduates and the failures too. These will give you an idea as to the direction you want to go in and what may or may not work with your personality and that of your ferrets. There are as many different ways to switch a ferret as there are ferrets. You will note though, certain mentors use certain methods for switching. I use a chicken soupy, the recipe has been shared many times on the board. Check out if you want to use a soupy switch or a prey switch, even a frankenprey switch. Read through, ask your questions. Take that leap of faith, and experiment. Some have found it surprisingly easy, especially those with very young ferrets. I've found that no ferret is a complete holdout, you just need patience and to be more stubborn that your ferrets . I've switched over 30 ferrets personally (these are little ones that have come through my shelter/hospice). The ages range from Napoleon (at 7weeks, my youngest, who never did eat kibbles) to my sweet little old lady Babushka at 9 yrs of age. Check it out. ciao

Definitely! I find that YOUR frame of mind is what makes the biggest difference If you are determined that these little ones WILL be on a raw diet, then a raw diet is what they'll be on
