Anyone know where to buy them? Walgreens? Wal-mart? Petsmart? I am looking for a 5cc (or more) syringe that I can use for feeding De. She eats her raw soupie by herself, but she doesnt eat ENOUGH. I would like to feed her via syringe a few times a day so that I know for sure how much food she's consuming (not counting the food she eats on her own). I used to buy my feeding syringes in the horse section of petsmart. I would buy needless 5-6cc syringes that would normally be used to give horses injections. The needless ones made great feeding syringes and they were really cheap too. However, the horse section of petsmart (near me) has closed down (dont know if its just my petsmart, or petsmarts everywhere) so I can no longer buy the syringes. Any help would be appreciated

The very best syringes are the O-ring type. They have a only a ring of silicon around the plunger tip rather thn a large rubber tip. The problem with the large rubber tip is that, after the syringe is used several times, the rubber tip of the plunger begins to bind in the barrel of the syringe. You then risk sudden delivery of a huge amount of food into your ferret's mouth when the plunder finally gives way. The risk of course is that the ferret will aspirate food into its lungs and choke or develop aspiration pneumonia. The O-ring syringes are MUCH less prone to doig this, so they last much longer, but these syringes are just about impossibe to find. 1. Your vet's office - (they will ALWAYS have them available!!!) ----------------------- if I stop by my vet's office and tell them I need to purchase a couple of large feeding syringes for my brats, they just give me a handful of them - free of charge ;D I've also purchased a box of 50 syringes through my vet's office for a ferret feeding training session at our ferret club. (Everyone gets to practiceon their ferret, and they all get free syringes an babyfod to take home! 2. Specialty Bird stores ------------------------------ They'll be more expensive, but they usually have them. 3. Pharmacies - ----------------- CHeck infant supplies - or ak your pharmacist for large oral syringes. Or Walgreens, Eckerd's, etc. 4. Pet suply places ------------------------ CHeck bird and horse supply areas. 2. O-ring Syringes: BAXA Corp --------------------------------------- www.baxa.com/SearchResults/ I used to buy and donate O-ring syringes to the wild life rehab. organization where I volunteered for many years. You may want to call and talk to them about syringe stles to make sure you get the right tip kind & size of syringe - tell them you want 20 cc O-ring syringes for oral feeding of small animals) We used them on baby raccoons. You'd need to buy a box of them (50+ ) 3. Other medical supply stores ------------------------------------ Either online or local -jennifer

Went to petco and petsmart. Both said "we don't carry feeding syringes, try walgreens" So I went to walgreens and found a 10ml syringe for $2. It came with a cleaning brush and so other nifty do-dad. Not bad.

Yeah, you can also try at the counter, just ask the pharmacist if you can get a syringe used to liquid meds. They'll either give you one or point you to them. Walmart is probably cheapest, but you never know....
