Many start their furbabies of with pinkies...my guys weren't interested, not enough movement. I started off with full sized mice but if you're afraid of a bite, try some hoppers or something like that. They move quickly and will spark your little ones hunting interest ciao

I started out with adult mice as well, actually had a leftover I'd bought for my snake one day and tried all the ferrets out on it, at the time only 1 was interested. In my experience, if they aren't interested size doesn't matter much, most of mine picked it up watching the one who loved mice, only two have been gung ho about them from the start out of 8.
Mice are usually sold as pinkies (no fur 1-3 days), fuzzies (4-9 days), hoppers (10-20 days) weans (21-28 days) adults (over a month old). I wean at one month old and consider "adults" to be mice around 25 grams and up. Retired breeders are 40-60 grams. My crew of 5 (4 are males) will eat 12-14 weans a day about 15-20 grams each. More if Pip has his way as he will eat 3 in a sitting.
