I just recently got a job at Petsmart and while I was shadowing a girl in my department, she was cleaning a finch's cage. She showed me a little egg and then tossed it in the trash. She said that the birds there lay eggs sometimes and they just throw them away (they are not fertile).
Would it be okay to use these eggs as part of my ferrets' diet?

I do. I had a friend who brought it pigeon eggs to my guys. I just cleaned them up and then gave them the whole egg, shell and all. They had a lot of fun with them. Hen eggs, are often quite hard and are difficult for ferrets to crack and get at the good stuff inside. The pigeon eggs were smaller and softer, easily broken and much more fun to eat ciao
