When making FN shelf covers, do you make them so that they slip over the little plastic piece that sits on the shelf, or over the entire shelf rack? Can it sit on top of the shelf, tied down, and be ok, or does it have to slip over to make the shelf toe safe? Does anyone have good detailed pics, or a close up of a shelf cover/shelf cover attached to the shelf, and the "gap" that the cover is protecting? thanks!

I know its late bc I saw the pics of the ones you made, but for the big levels I just sewed ribbons in the corners so I could tie them into bows. On the little shelves I did it where they kind of have like a "hood" that just goes over the edge a couple inches. Idk if that makes sense. I think I'm gonna redo my little shelf covers though when I fig out a good way to make them.

I HOPE this makes sense...Just PM me if you have any questions. Its really just a guideline, I mean like measurements and all that are up to you. I would just make the ties longer than you did for the mats because after you initially tie them together you will then have to tie them again. For example... I would first cut out the side patterns (rectangle pieces) and stuff and tie them up. (Make sure you stuff them super full bc these will be the sides so they need to have support.) After that, cut out the top and bottom pieces (cirlces) and tie them to the ties from the rectangle. The end result looks like a squishy round cave. They LOVE it though.

haha that is ok! I like big! Thanks! That looks awesome! I won't have time to do it until after finals, but when I do I will be sure to post pics - and questions. lol So for the shelf covers, I am still confused? What is the notorious gap that I am trying to cover? Is it between the metal shelf frame and the plastic piece that goes on it, or is it between the entire shelf and the cage itself?

Ok, I'm glad you can see it lol.
Honestly idk. I think it is only in older models. From what it sounds like, there is a gap on the edge of the small shelves, but mine doesn't have one so idk.
