Well, I got some of the bedding done, but it is not quite finished yet. Probably won't happen until after finals, but at least I have a mat for each level so I can move him between the two. Top Level: Full cage: s985.photobucket.com/albums/ae337/HurricaneKatt/Ferret/?action=view¤t=DSC01387.jpgChicken Toy and Edges: I did a no sew mat the size of the floor, and flipped it inside out so that there are no ruffly edges to play with! It kind of looks like a braid or something on the edges. The top shelf cover will be black on top, the bottom will be red on top. Then the top ramp cover will be red and the bottom ramp cover will be black. I covered the handles with fabric scraps to keep them from destroying my closet doors. I put the fabric over and rubber banded it on really well. Koda spent several minutes trying to get the fabric off (with me watching) and wasn't able to reach or grip them, so I feel that they are safe. Even if he did get the fabric, the rubber bands are on there SUPER tight and I am confident that he would not be able to get to those. I am going to make some more stuff, and I bought Zebra pattern fabric too. I couldn't find any red dinosaurs. Or ANY dinosaurs for that matter. lol Sorry for the blurry pics, it was night and the lighting in my room was pretty bad.

To give you an idea of how it ties into my room... Where the laundry basket is in the front of the pic is where Koda is now, and my bed blanket (not on in the pic lol) is fuzzy polar fleece: black on the top and red on the bottom. The cage in the background is my iguana's current cage (building a new one) and my ball python's cage next to it. You can kind of see my ig on my back if you look close lol I was trying - and failing - to get a picture of him. It is an old picture though - he is much bigger now!

Very cool!! I like how the black & red in the room all ties in together with the cage! Are there no ramps / shelves We just redid our living room and kitchen (its very open floor plan type) in a blue/teal and brown color scheme, and I want to do the ferret cage in the same colors as well (the ferret cage is next to the entertainment center). Most of the bedding is pink, though ..... plus...... if I ever want to add a "brother" I like a 'gender neutral' color I'm waiting on my parts to show up for the remote litter box, first before I do anything else with $$$$ and bedding

Thanks! I am a bit anal about things matching...among other things. Oooo I like teal/brown! Great color combo! Well in my post I described my plan for the shelf/ramp covers, but I haven;t done them yet. But right now Koda is recovering from surgery ( holisticferret.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=medicine&thread=4914&page=4 ) and so he isn't allowed to do any climbing. Hence the lack of shelves or ramps, and the levels are closed off from each other. For the floor mats, I made the top and the bottom full-size rectangles (no L shape for the top), and plan on folding the corner up and under and tying it (around the bars, so it will actually go through the ramp-hole and be tied to the roof of the first level). This is so that I can more easily have him in one level or the other if needed without a gap in the bedding if I close the ramp, and I can swap around bedding sets/dirty/clean bedding more easily. Also, I just didn't feel like taking the time to make the L shape ( I can always go back and cu the corner off lol).

I am SUCH a dork!! I just saw your other thread about the surgery -- d'oh! ;D Glad everything is going well (now) with that! How scary! How much fabric did you get? Just wondering -- I think you may have motivated me to do my cage anyway

I got 2 yards of each color and I did the two floor mats and should have Just enough left for the shelves and ramps (I hope) with just enough left over for whatever else can use what is left if any. haha

Thanks! haha The longer I go on, the more and more difficult it is going to be to ever change the theme of my room. I think eventually I want to change it to a blue nautical theme, but I have soooo many things that match the black and red! haha My whole room is designed around this Amy Brown picture: and a black/granite dragon table that I have. I now have red and black everything...it will be hard to change! haha

I love Amy Brown! I love to do drawings like her stuff (art major). I also love nautical theme... Before we moved last year my room was really cute like white and light blues and greens. I had those old colored glass and rope buoys hanging in the window. I miss it I have no theme now lol.

I had those old colored glass and rope buoys hanging in the window. I miss it I have no theme now lol. Aw that sounds awesome! The Gothic picture that I have I actually redrew from her picture. I love doing art, but I have never really had the time to take any art classes. Not to mention that I don't like being told what to do. You HAVE to start with the basic courses to get into the more advanced courses and I always felt that it was stupid to draw boxes and fruits when I could easily do that and more on my own already! haha Now I just have no time or I would try to get into some fun painting classes! Or ceramics - I love ceramics. All of the stuff I do on my own though is pencil, oil pastels, or acrylic paint with a little ceramics thrown in here and there. But yeah, I'd like to eventually change my room to like old school nautical, big fat ropes, and anchors, and a big ship's wheel on my wall and lightning houses and such, with some tropical thrown in - big old pirate ship on a tropical beach with palm trees and a lighthouse!!!! One day...

Yea I'm done with the dumb classes lol...I hated them, but got through! I'm taking a ceramic class in the Fall, sooo I'll see how that goes.
Great ideas for the room, you sound creative...I bet you and I would really get along lol. Gah if I won the lottery! The things I would do!
