1. Where did you first learn about natural diets for ferrets?
I didn't learn about natural diets for ferrets and the benefits of it until I started joining ferret forums. I was directed to this forum and have been actively researching on it since then.
2. Please describe the type of diet you would like assistance in switching your ferret(s) to. Be sure to include if you are interested in feeding whole prey (live or frozen-thawed) and if you are wanting to FULLY switch to a natural diet or PARTIALLY. If you are unsure what kind of diet you want to put your ferrets on, please express that and we can help you find the best type of natural diet for your ferret.
I would like to switch my ferret to a full natural diet first and then after some time switch to feeding whole prey.
3. Why are you interested in switching your ferrets to a natural diet?
I would like to switch to a natural diet because of the benefits to my ferts health. The health of his coat, and his energy level. As far as I can comprehend their are only pro's to a natural diet and no cons.
4. Do you understand that switching your ferret to a natural diet can be a lengthy, arduous process? Its not an overnight switch. It can be a commitment of several weeks or even months. Your HF Mentor will be more then happy to assist you in switchng your ferret(s) to a natural diet, but you need to be equally as commited. If you aren't willing to tough out a potentially lengthy switching process, or if you have major life changes approaching (baby on the way, moving, starting school, getting married/divorced, etc) then it might be a better idea to wait on switching your ferret's diet until you have more time. Are you willing to make the commitment?
Yes I am willing to make the commitment to switching my ferret to this natural diet. I have been a father to my 4 month old ferret for about 4 days now and I started feeding him little squares of chicken breast. He has taken to it extremely well and loves them.
5. How many ferrets do you currently have? What are their names? Ages? Genders? Do they have any health problems? Are they overweight? Underweight?
I currently have 1 ferret and his name is Eddie, about 4 months of age and he is a male. No health problems that I know of so far and he seems to be at a very healthy weight.
6. What diet do you currently feed your ferrets? (Please include all treats, supplements, etc)
When I bought him I started him on Marshals Premium, but I started feeding him chicken breast squares last night. Other then that I have 2 different types of treats I use. Marshalls Bandits Premium Feret Treats, Chicken flavor. And Marshalls FuroVite.
7. Have you ever tried to switch your ferrets to a natural diet in the past? If yes, what happened?
Yes, last night I started giving him some chicken breast squares. He didn't eat them from the plate, instead he would grab them piece by piece and take them to his corner hiding spot in his cage. About 2 hours later I saw him eating them and finished them in about 10 minutes.
8. What additional information about yourself or your ferrets would you like to share?
Being a new ferret father I need as much information as I could get right now. I love my little eddie and just want whats best for him.
9. How often during the week do you have access to a computer?
Everyday.
10. Please post a picture of each of your ferrets
