So I went to GNC and got 500mg taurine supplements that I'm going to powder. How much should I be giving 2 ferrets (2 y/o, 1 two-pound male, 1 ~1.5 lb female) per day? Does anyone know anything about arginine deficiency in ferts? I saw a brief mention of it in this article: www.weaselwords.com/page/ferret_art032.php

I don't know what the top limit is, but from what I've read Taurine is either used by the body or disposed of, it isn't stored by ferrets in their body to use later. I've got one 2.5lb boy and two girls around 2 lbs each, and I give them three 500mg capsules once around every other day. I do frankenprey, so I give them their tuarine on their chicken wing days and don't give them tuarine on their pork/lamb/rabbit and organ days.
