Wonderful! And then if you can find one or more other organs to add to their diet. I don't think you'll have a problem getting them to eat anything. They seem happy to try anything you put down.
I'll send Heather a message to review your thread!

Almost there! Heather needs to see a one week menu plan to make sure you have a good balance. Format it like this:
Mon. AM - chicken wing PM - turkey gizzards and heart
Tues. AM - pork chunks midday - chicken liver PM - chicken thigh
Etc. Etc.

ok no problem here is what i have planned this week (i still haven't gone out to get the brain and other fun stuff so this is based on what i have left in the freezer)
monday: am chicken wings pm gizzards
tuesday: am pork pm beef
wensday: am quail pm liver heart and gizzard
thursday: am beef pm chicken
friday: am chicken wings pm gizzard heart
please let me know if that sounds ok then depending on how their poops are if they are too runny i would add a little pumpkin or crushed egg shells with something that they are eating at that moment.

I'm going to reply here rather than play third party. You've got your variety...great stuff. I like the fact that you're going to play with some other organs and things too. That's great. What happened to Sat and Sun?? you do feed on weekends ;D right? Is the quail bone in? If not, with just the 5 days, you don't have enough bone in your mix. I would like to see more bone. I noticed that you do make adjustments as you go along and I like that but with what you have here I'm not seeing enough calcium in your ferrets' diet. Ferrets are notorious for being low on calcium. Take a look at your diet and see if you can make some adjustments and I will check in on you later. Looking good . ciao

yes the quail is bone in and i don't know what happened to saturday and sunday lol on the weekends if i know i'll be gone long i'll leave them with something bone in so it doesn't get nasty like the quail or chicken wings or i just started also giving them split thigh or something like that sorry i know how it looks in the package but not the name it's chicken and the bones are cut basically down the middle with the meat on the sides and the marrow is exposed (they love it!) so they get between 3-4 days of bone in meats should i be doing more than that? i was afraid that it was bad to give to much bone in things (but this is actually easier to feed then the cubed meats)

If you feed bone in on the weekend then you're good to go I usually look at it as feeding bone every other day. It works out to balance over time and that's what you're doing and looking for. Please continue to add and experiment with different proteins this can only benefit your little ones. Congratulations, you've graduated. You and your little ones have moved into the realm of raw feeder/eaters . You've successfully walked a path that isn't easy to travel and won Please remember that you can always continue to ask questions on the board or even pm you mentor if you feel more comfortable discussing feeding issues with someone you've worked with and trust. I will pm Luci and tell her that you've been successful and I"m sure she will want to pop in and congratulate you too Good luck ciao
