Updates-
I have some good news! My big pay check from college will be here tuesday march 9th. Money Money Money!
Anyway, my new question now is: What should I get done at the vets? Dingo hasn't ground his teeth since I first heard it, but he is awefully tired now. I basicaly have to drag him out of the hamoock, or tunnel for some cuddle time, etc. He is abviously adrenal though. Monster's furr is getting better, but he still seems slower than everyone else. I am not sure if it is just him, or something else. He is litterly slower than the rest of the ferrets except when he is put into his bean pit. Than, He will go nuts and jump around etc.

Update- Monster & Dingo was taken to the vet. Yay! but also bye bye money. The vet did a blood screen on dingo + a lurpon shot. The blood screen came up okay on the glucose, but his liver enzymes ( or something along thoes lines ) were high. So, She prescribed Milk Thistle for two months. She also gave me some cream for the swelling on his eye lid. Monster was basicaly just looked at. She said it would be good to re-do his meds for a second month. I will see what happens at the end of these meds. My vet bill goes like this- Monster: Progress Evaluation- 45.00 Ghost: Professional Exam- 59.00 Pre-Medication/Geriat Screen-75.88 Leuprolide 100 MCG/VIAL- 80.00 Avix Milk Thistle- 22.11 BNP W/HYDRO OINT- 27.00 Someone tell me that 80.00 for the lurpon is over priced? I would hate to see what the price for the surgery is.

I guess it depends on your vet. The first one I went to charged $79 for monthly lupron. The second, $42. Because a number of us left the first one to go to the second, the first now charges $45

So anyway!
I wanted to know what the usual lists on what to do first?
Like- 1. First Treatment of Lupron. 2. Second Treatment...See how he is doing. vs seeing if he would make it through surgery.
3. etc?
Dingo ( soon to be changed, but still trying to find that one name. He is a womanizer and all the girls at the vet were in love with his bald but. ) is still realy sleepy. It's only been a weak, so is that enough time to see some kind of positive reaction to the shot?
One thing that I have come to realize with him is that He is a fighter. He hates the milk thisle, and what ever I give to him. I did get pedialite because he looked dehydrated one day, and he did not put up a fight the first fluids. The second set was a strugle so atleast I knew he was geting energy.
oh, and He has ulcers. I need to get the meds, but I am going to call me regular vet to see if I can't ge the lupron shot there and possible the meds for cheaper.

did I read somewhere about (asking a vet) pepto bismol for ulcers? ask the vet by phone, maybe for free consult?

Pepto actually from what I read is bad for a ferret. It has aspirin or something in it now since they redid the formula.

Pepto is no longer ferret friendly....sulcrate is what you're looking for. ciao

So the last couple days have been tough. Dingo ( still not named. :sigh: getting close though Casonova is what keeps coming up ) just seemed to be getting thiner, and sicker looking. I got realy worried and made him eat some soup. He just makes me feel terrible because I have not been able to get more ulcer meds yet. On tuesday, I took monster off his meds as it has been a full month since he started. The last week or so I gave him meds only once a day. I went ahead and started Ding on meds to possible just get a head start. I have one more dose of the brown stuff, and possible a week or more of the other meds. Last night while putting everyone up, He appeared out of no where and was looking at me. Now this boy is a sleeper. He does nothing but sleep so the fact that he was up before I woke him up was suprissing. He also ate from the soup bowl finaly, and i watched him grind his teeth but gulp down kibble. ^.^ I also might be fostering two young ferrets untill I plan a trip to take them to the richmon ferret rescue. A freind of a freind got them, but found her daughter to be terrified by them so she is trying to find them a new home. The lady is realy nice and cares about them, but just hates to seem them in their cage all day. I am talking to kris from the rescue, but I am just trying to find the right time to meet them haft way. I just hope I don't fall in love with them as they are kits, and they sound absolutly adorible. Something that my pixie would love. :smacks herself: No! Bad! Don't think like that. Bill wize- Can't afford them.

Keep pinching yourself You've got 2 sickies that you're looking after right now, don't get yourself buried real deep. It's really easy to do. Little ones are really cute and once they're in the door it's always real easy just to keep them. Watch Monster carefully. I've never had a ferret get over ulcers properly in a month. I find it usually takes a month and a half, closer to 2 months for them to beat it. You're going to have to try and get your newest addition, Dingo to the vet for some antibiotics and some sulcrate (or something like that). He's in dire need. His tummy is hurting him badly and if he's feeling nauseaus he won't eat on his own. Good luck ciao

I got my meds Friday. ^.^ They are 50 dollars cheaper than at the other clinic. So he is on Milk thistle, and the four meds that monster was on.
Something really weird happened when I bathed them all to get rid of the fleas. Cass looks at me and flopped on his side/back while in the tub. He couldn't support himself it seems. If i had not of held him, He would of dunked his head in the water.
I am going to email the vet to get the blood test's sent to me so I can personally check the number with yall's help. I fear he may have that blood diabetes type disease.
See you in the lime light!

I'd be taking Cass in to have him tested for insulinoma. That can make them weak and unsteady. If it is, he/she will need prednisolone for the rest of his life.

Isn't Insulinoma tested by a simple blood test to see what his levels are? I am trying to get the vet to fax me his papers so I can see the levels.
Dingo doesn't have the weird walking, but he does seem unbalanced. It made me nervous when he was falling in the bath tub. I hope it is just because he is so weak and now because of the Disease.
If he has it, Can he still go for adrenal surgery?
