Is there a sticky or can there be a sticky made of what should be fed and how often? i've been looking into it and getting some conflicting information so a sticky would be nice for us newbies. for example- i have heard of people feeding hearts on a daily basis, then i get told to feed them only 3 times a week, then that i have to vary between beef and chicken hearts despite the fact i already give him 6 sources of protien so much to learn! and with the bones- i never thought to give different types of bones, i would have figured just wings would have been fine. so yes- n00b guide, please?

Here is my schedule Mon: bone in AM/PM Tues: bone in AM, liver or kidney and muscle or bone in PM Wed: bone in AM/ PM Thurs: muscle AM/PM (I feed only heart on this day) Fri: bone in AM/PM Sat: bone in AM/PM Sun: muscle AM/PM This is taken from thread in link, it gives an idea what meats to feed which day. Remember any meats can be switched out for other meats. Same as organs, you can use beef heart and kidney instead of chicken and so on. holisticferret.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gen&action=display&thread=1221MONDAY: 2 raw chicken wings (one each) $0.75 Total TUESDAY: 1/2 cornish game hen (to share) $1.00 Total WEDNESDAY: 1 cup boneless beef chunks $1.00 Total THURSDAY: Other half of cornish game hen $1.00 Total FRIDAY: 1 cup boneless pork chunks $1.25 Total SATURDAY: 1 raw turkey neck $1.10 Total SUNDAY: 2 chicken livers, 2 chicken hearts, 6 chicken gizzards, and 1 raw egg $1.00 Total The idea of raw feeding is to give as many different variety meats as possible. The minimum number of 3 meats is only set as the bare minimum being just enough nutrients. With raw feeding the more variety the better. Each different animal and each different part of the animal has different nutritional value then the other parts. For example chicken thigh is a good source of taurine where breast isn't so much. All meat contains taurine just different parts are more rich than others.

Even easier? Bone 3-4 days a week, muscle 2 days a week, liver and organ one meal a week, other meal whatever you choose. It all depends on what your ferret needs, and that can vary. I've got a couple who could easily eat bone daily with no problems. In fact, they need more than my others. And heart is a muscle meat- doesn't matter the animal it comes from. As long as you've got your 3 basic proteins at minimum you're fine!
