Hey, So I am a member of a really great reptile forum (herpcenter.com) as well as this forum. On Herp Center they have a sticky thread called Find a Vet (or something like that). It contains a search option, and a list of states. Forum members (and maybe visitors? not sure on that one) can Add vets in their area that they know to be good herp vets. I saw this thread: holisticferret.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=medicine&thread=4434&page=1#42100 and thought that it would be good to have that on here. If you go to the herp center site you can see what I am talking about. It is REALLY useful, especially for newer members. Anyways, just a suggestion.

I think this is a great Idea - we do have a thread for raw diet-friendly vets. But what I would ideally like to see would be the following:
List sorted by Country, Area (state/province, etc)
Vet Name: Clinic Name: Clinic Address Clinic Phone Emgergency support available Clinic website (email address can be obtained from website) Practice Description: Traidtional, Integrative with holistic focus, etc. this would need to be Very brief!!!

The forum www.herpcenter.com/The Vet Finder www.herpcenter.com/reptile-vet-finder/It has a list by state. You click on your state and you can find a list of vets with any contact info, etc. Or you can click "Add a Vet" and input the info yourself if you know of a good vet. There are blocks for all contact info, as well as a space for comments. Other people can add their comments if they see that vet so you can get an opinion from a few people.

Sounds like a really good idea. Let's face it- finding a raw/holistic vet is a wonderful dream for most of us! Just being able to find a reputable ferret vet is a dream for many others!

Haha Tell me about it. I guess for a fairly small town we are lucky here because we have multiple vet offices and pretty good vets. I know in other places it can be rough finding a good vet though. :S I'm a bit worried about finding one when I move.

Well here is my first suggestion Connecticut Vet Name: They have at least three, all seem good but I have personally only dealt with two (I was really happy with their surgery etc, the pre surgery visit was a bit brief and not a real check up) Clinic Name: Bolton Veterinary Hospital Clinic Address: 222 Boston Turnpike Bolton, CT 06043 Clinic Phone Emgergency support available: They are an emergency clinic and usually keep at least one ferret vet on every night at the clinic for exotic emergencies Clinic website www.boltonvet.com/Practice Description: They are a traditional practice but are open to raw. They even allowed me to leave freeze dried with Newt when he went in for his neuter. A few of the techs that I spoke with also feed raw.
