Hello everyone, Nice to meet you~
My name is Dana which is pronounced like bandana but without the ban... I dunno blame my parents I am a twenty two year old girl who is living at home and going to grad school. I have three ferrets two boys and one girl.
I fell in love with ferrets years and years ago when I was about ten or so when I went upstate for new years. The daughter-in-law of the couple who's house it was had four of them. I played in that room every day while I was there and have wanted a ferret ever since!
Unfortunately I didn't know that ferrets like to chew shoes and those ferrets ate the foam heels off of the shoes I was wearing. I feel soooo bad I hope I didn't make the poor things sick but no one warned me of blockages and I was young at the time :/
For a while I forgot how much I wanted ferrets as applying for highschool and then college soon got in the way. I recently re-discovered my love for the little buggers while in a petshop. (a very nice one where they really love their animals I might add) There was a big cuddly ferret whose coat I can't identify. I fell in love and couldn't stop thinking about him. I took him home a week and a half later and named him Weasel.
I decided from the start that I wanted more than one so I adopted my second ferret, T.W.O (T.he W.hite O.ne Guess what color he is ) the same day. They instantly bonded and I was very happy watching them play and dook like crazy.
I then, two weeks later, like a crazy ferret lady, decided I wanted a third as T.W.O is extremely energetic and Weasel is a bit more laid back and doesn't always want to play. I picked out a little tiny girlie and introduced her to the two boys and once again they seemed to get along just fine with the first meeting and immediately started snuggling with eachother. I named her Minerva Mink after the Animaniacs character
I love them more than I can even begin to describe.
Right now I have them on EVO but I really want to switch them to a raw food/whole prey diet and am in the middle of transitioning them. They eat mushy minced chicken meat, cartilage, and a bit of liver sofar but still look at me like I'm trying to poison them. HAND FEEDING FOR THE WIN~
ANYWAY, now that I've told you my life story, it is very nice to meet you and I hope to talk and get to know you all in the future.
Edit: Pictures of my two boys. ( haven't uploaded the pictures of girlie Mink yet)
Weasel passed out in my arms
T.W.O. and Weasel passed out and snuggling!
I'm a bad ferret mommy.... >
I walked in and found the two of them like this and I had to take a pictuure. THEY'RE HUGGING!!
