Sounds great....good work. Patience pays off . She has to realize that it's food and sometimes it takes time. Keep her on the same for a bit and then try adding more meat and adding some pieces (just a couple) that are a tiny bit larger (don't get real big, just a bit larger) and see if she will eat those. From reading your previous posts, she likes to take her time, that's ok. If she really likes her chicken add a couple of pieces of beef (the same size that she's used to and just a piece or two), you can also try pork, rabbit...any type of protein that you can get that you think that she might eat. Both the pork and rabbit are mild flavoured meats and usually easily accepted. Let me know how it goes. I will check in on you tomorrow ciao

No problem Keely The usual idea is to feed a minimum of 3 proteins. My guys get chicken, turkey, beef, pork, rabbit, a fish mix (it's a commercial mix, mackerel, salmon and sardine), emu, elk and of course full prey of mouse and rats. The more protein sources you add the less you have to supplement and the more trace minerals you cover. Don't worry about the pork unless you buy free range. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then just freeze it for a couple of weeks. This will kill the parasites that everyone is afraid of What bones is your little girl getting? I will check in later and see how you're doing ciao

That's ok, as long as she's getting bone. My guys get bone daily with their ground foods. You should feed bone about 3 or 4 times a week. You could try cutting up the chicks, she may not realize they're food...I know that some have to do that when starting them on mice, so why not chicks. Turkey's good, and yes they can eat fish..if it's raw they can eat the bones too. I will chat at you later ciao

Don't worry about name changes...just as long as I know who I'm dealing with Yah...I'm not fond of Stinky either Belle is much nicer. Try a little ferretone if you think Belle will maybe take some nibbles. It's good to take your time, sometimes rushing things can make the whole process take a couple of steps backwards. Keep at it, I'm sure you will get her to try soon. Each ferret is different in their acceptance of new things. Sometimes they surprise you. Good luck, I will check in to see if she's decided these chicks are tasty or not. ciao

Don't appologize, I'm ok with it. Just keep popping in and giving me an update. I've been having internet problems and sometimes I miss some of my own students I've been so busy doing the admin part of this job that I feel that I've not been working with my students (I enjoy this part far more than I enjoy the admin part ) Is Belle the one that's the biter, is she the one eating the turkey and the chicks?? That's great if she is. Wonderful. Yes, weather will affect their appetite, especially if it's hot and humid (at least it seriously affects my guys). When it gets hot and muggy my bunch spend a lot more time sleeping than eating. They're also up later at night when the air cools and then they're more active and more inclined to eat but they definitely eat less. Keep track, if they're eating and they're not loosing huge weight then they're probably just affected by the heat. Keep a close eye on them though, this is when we often overlook an illness thinking it's just the heat. I will keep checking in to see if you've posted. I will talk to you later. ciao

Looks like Belle is moving along nicely. Finding a supplier is sometimes difficult that's why good suppliers are really treasured. How about boned pieces of meat?? How are we doing in that dept? It's great that she's eating the chicks...good stuff. How are your other little fuzzies doing? Ahhh, to catch up with little kits to try and win a snuggle without loosing ones nose I will check in with you tomorrow ciao

The little ones can get themselves into so much trouble I hope his nose isn't too sore Could you give me a menu update as to what your guys are eating? Just write down what you're feeding every day and who's getting it (unless they're all eating the same thing). I just want to check up and see where we need to work. I will be looking in on you tomorrow ciao
