Sounds great....good work. Patience pays off . She has to realize that it's food and sometimes it takes time. Keep her on the same for a bit and then try adding more meat and adding some pieces (just a couple) that are a tiny bit larger (don't get real big, just a bit larger) and see if she will eat those. From reading your previous posts, she likes to take her time, that's ok. If she really likes her chicken add a couple of pieces of beef (the same size that she's used to and just a piece or two), you can also try pork, rabbit...any type of protein that you can get that you think that she might eat. Both the pork and rabbit are mild flavoured meats and usually easily accepted. Let me know how it goes. I will check in on you tomorrow ciao

im going to buy some pork later an try her on it and try find where i can get some rabbit and see how she takes to it sorry again for taking soo long to get back to you but i will always get back thankyou keely.
No problem Keely The usual idea is to feed a minimum of 3 proteins. My guys get chicken, turkey, beef, pork, rabbit, a fish mix (it's a commercial mix, mackerel, salmon and sardine), emu, elk and of course full prey of mouse and rats. The more protein sources you add the less you have to supplement and the more trace minerals you cover. Don't worry about the pork unless you buy free range. If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then just freeze it for a couple of weeks. This will kill the parasites that everyone is afraid of What bones is your little girl getting? I will check in later and see how you're doing ciao

i havent given her whole bone to eat but i have grinded it up in her meat soupy mix a couple of times shes had just chicken bone i didnt know u could feed then maceral and other fish she tryed to eat my maceral onces but it was heated up (cooked). she loved it. i also feed her 1day old chick she licked it but didnt eat it and shes likes eating turkey she its that in little portions.keely
That's ok, as long as she's getting bone. My guys get bone daily with their ground foods. You should feed bone about 3 or 4 times a week. You could try cutting up the chicks, she may not realize they're food...I know that some have to do that when starting them on mice, so why not chicks. Turkey's good, and yes they can eat fish..if it's raw they can eat the bones too. I will chat at you later ciao

the reason i knew about the chicks is because i just took on two little albino 7 week old babys they eat chicks and turkey is there anything elese i can feed them i read that some things can be to rich for them and somethings they just cant eat also belles licking the chicks and taking tiny nibbles i was thinking of pouring a tiny bit of ferretone on it she likes the turky but cus its knew she still little unsure bout it lol but im just letting her take her time with it all. thanks keely owe sorry i changed her name to belle its a much nicer name then stinky lol.
Don't worry about name changes...just as long as I know who I'm dealing with Yah...I'm not fond of Stinky either Belle is much nicer. Try a little ferretone if you think Belle will maybe take some nibbles. It's good to take your time, sometimes rushing things can make the whole process take a couple of steps backwards. Keep at it, I'm sure you will get her to try soon. Each ferret is different in their acceptance of new things. Sometimes they surprise you. Good luck, I will check in to see if she's decided these chicks are tasty or not. ciao

im ever soo sorry i havent updated please bare with me i have 4 ferrets now lol hehe their great but ones a bit of a biter yer she love the chicks and turkey soooooooo happy shes eating it but in small amount she doesnt seem to be eating alot at mo nun of mybabys do could it be because of the weather it as been quit hot latley thanks keely please please bare with me in updating. keely oh and yes i know bells so much nicer lol
Don't appologize, I'm ok with it. Just keep popping in and giving me an update. I've been having internet problems and sometimes I miss some of my own students I've been so busy doing the admin part of this job that I feel that I've not been working with my students (I enjoy this part far more than I enjoy the admin part ) Is Belle the one that's the biter, is she the one eating the turkey and the chicks?? That's great if she is. Wonderful. Yes, weather will affect their appetite, especially if it's hot and humid (at least it seriously affects my guys). When it gets hot and muggy my bunch spend a lot more time sleeping than eating. They're also up later at night when the air cools and then they're more active and more inclined to eat but they definitely eat less. Keep track, if they're eating and they're not loosing huge weight then they're probably just affected by the heat. Keep a close eye on them though, this is when we often overlook an illness thinking it's just the heat. I will keep checking in to see if you've posted. I will talk to you later. ciao

Ahhh, to catch up with little kits to try and win a snuggle without loosing ones nose I will check in with you tomorrow ciao
