Hello!! My name is Robin. I have 2 lovely ferrets named Guy and Malachy. I have read some things about raw diets. I'm vary interested in introducing this to my ferrets but am unsure how to show them a new food that they've never seen. Or even what type of meat. I've read about chicken, its meat, bones, and intestines. But what first and how? Any help would be wonderful. Thanks :]

Hi Robin  Welcome to you and your little fuzzbutts. Please feel free to prowl the various areas within the forum. You may want to pay particular attention to the nutritional section (you may actually see some of your questions asked there and answered  ). You will find it's been split into several different areas that cover everything from general feeding and questions to raising your own food  Read through the various threads and ask questions. Everyone here is friendly and we have some really knowledgeable people. If you feel that all this information is overwhelming (and it probably will feel that way, at least in the beginning  :  sign up for a mentor. Through our mentoring program you will get one on one assistance to help you discover the wonderful world of natural food. At the moment we're at capacity but there are always graduates and if you sign up you will be picked up by one of our able mentors as soon as a space is available. As far as meats, you are only restricted by your imagination and availability of various protein sources. Chicken, pork, beef, venison, salmon, mice, rats.....my guys eat all of these and more. The greater the variety, the more nutritional needs are met for your furbabies. I hope that I will be seeing you around. ciao |
