I found a mortar and pestle and went ahead and made some eggshell powder. Its about a tablespoons worth. Is it ok that its not a fine powder? Its somewhere between fine powder and course ground.
Oh and how much do you use in a batch of soupy?

I would personally try to grind it down a little more. Eggshell can't be digested very well by ferrets so it's easier on their systems if it's a fine powder.
As for amount, the basic rule is 1 tsp. of eggshell for every 1/2 to full pound of meat. You can adjust as needed by paying attention to the litter box. If the poops are really slimy or runny, add more. If they're having problems pooping, take some out.

Go and find yourself a coffee grinder! A few pulses, and it's a fine powder!

Definitely! Rinse them, and let them totally dry first. Otherwise your mortar and pestle, or coffee grinder will be a right mess!
