Hey guys, I know some of you feed your dogs raw diets as well...and I was wondering if anyone can let me know what things are needed other than meats (ie. veggies, rice, etc...?). And maybe give me some general guideline tips, Im new at this and I want to make the switch as soon as possible!
Thanks for your help!!!

Its pretty much the same as it is for ferrets. Only ferrets need smaller bones than most dogs do. Bailey can eat some beef bones and pork bones, but the ferrets cant eat the big bones, so they get smaller ones like chickenlegs/wings and whole mice. I dont feed veggies/rice to Bailey or the fuzz butts. I dont think its needed... When they get whole prey, they sometimes eat whatever is in the stomach, other than that no grains for them.

I thought dogs needed vegetables.....I know grains give them allergies and arent very natural for them, but I read on some site that its good to feed raw with veggies and rice, Im so confussed for dogs! For ferrets its so easy!!

Ive read that on some raw feeding sites too... but i dont really believe it. I dont see why they would need it. I guess a little bit of grans/veggies is natural for any carnivore because sometimes they eat the stomach of the prey animal but i dont think its enough to effect them that much.

Sorry I didn't catch this thread earlier! Here are a couple of really good sites to read: www.rawmeatybones.com/ www.rawfed.com/myths/ Both of these sites deal well with all of our carnivores! It's worth the time, and very interesting!
