Hi everyone,
I've been fosterling 2 little girls, Peeka and Girlie, for the last couple months. It was intended to be for just a couple weeks until their new owner could come get them from Chicago. It looks like their new home isnt going to work out for them... Unfortunately, I can't really keep them here forever. They do however need to go to the "right"home. Both have Adrenal Disease and are on the older side. Girlie is at least 6 years old and Peeka is a little over 3.
I'm going to try to get picutes posted shortly. If you're interested, please PM me.
They are both sweet girls. Girlie is a snuggle muffin who loves to give kisses. Peeka still does the whole *lick* *lick* *chomp*, but, seems to be calming down a LOT now that she's settled in here a little more. She hasnt bitten me in over a month and a half and actually just gives kisses now. I do still catch her in mid thought about how tasty the underside of my arm would be tho...
I go to NH every weekend and would be happy to meet up with someone a little further north if it's the right home.
I just feel bad for them. It was never planned that they would even be here this long (I'm honestly surprised and thankful to my fiance for being as patient as he has over this, considering he agreed to have some extra ferrets here for a "couple weeks") and the hope was that they would be in their forever home by now. Unfortunately, it just didn't work out for them. Nobody's fault really. It just sucks that life happens that way sometimes and their new home fell through.
Peeka is a cute little light chocolate. Pretty unique color actually and REALLY early stages of Adrenal so she still has all her fur and is as cute as a button.
Girlie needs to go to a home that can be a little more laid back for her. I've had to sperate her at play time from the rest of my crew lately because I have a bunch of rambunctious youngsters. Her spirit is still there and she tries to keep up with them, but the body just isn't able anymore. Poor things always ends up cut and slightly bleeding from the rough play with the "kids". She does just fine with Peeka as Peeka somehow seems to know to play gentle with her... I just feel bad for her when she gets bruises and cuts from normal ferrety play time. (Peeka on the other hand can hold her own with the crew just fine)
I have not been switching them to raw as the woman who was going to take them had requested that I leave them on kibble. They seem to like the kibble soup though so if someone wanted to switch them, they make take to it just fine.
