Sadly I need to rehome Samurai, he's 3 months old, beautiful little dark boy. I live in West Palm Beach, FL, currently Samurai eats Zupreem but he'll eat anything. I really do not want to rehome the little boy but I need to because of problems I can not control.

I would actually love to take him, although I am pretty far away (up here in Michigan)....I will check out a pet airline and see how much it would be to fly him up here and I can let you know

Skizzy, best of luck rehoming. Hopefully you and Cristina can work something out. I understand the weather in Florida is pretty scary right now. Take care!

Im not having much luck with finding an airline that will fly a ferret....so if the rehoming needs to be soon, here is a shelter near you if its necessary:
Buddy Ferrets Rescue Director: LeAnne Moore West Palm Beach, FL (561) 712-4554 Alternate Phone: (561) 676-1234 E-Mail: BuddyFerrets@aol.com
I really wish I could take him, he is absolutly beautiful! it just doesnt seem to be easy to move a ferret such a long ways, no airlines are that accommodating, but if you want to take a look and see what you can come up with and if it can be done, then please let me know!

Detla flys ferrets under cabin. No airlines fly ferrets in cabin anymore. I know other airlines fly ferrets because i was just thinking about moving overseas and i seen several that allow them under cabin. I think it only cost something like $150-$200 I am not sure though.

I dont know if I trust that though, he would be coming from fl and going to mi where its summer so those temps probably get pretty high where they store the animals. I really wouldnt be surprised if it reached 90 normally, plus I know of dogs that have been killed during flights in the cargo section in summer and winter so it pretty much totally turns me off all together about flying animals, unless its a pet airline strictly. Thanks for your help though! I have a house right around there in Boca, but I havent gone in a while or else I would keep him down there! I am going to talk to one of my friends who lives there and see if theres any other options

it's climate controlled in the cargo BUT the problem is the wait outside to get loading into the plane. Winter is a MUCH safer.

Have you thought of contacting some of the rescues who do animal transport. I have a friend who gets rescues transported anywhere and everywhere in the US and Canada. There may be arrangements made by these people who do rescue transport. I was going to get 6 ferrets shipped up here via rescue transport from Florida. It's always a thought. ciao

hi! I'm actually from West Palm Beach! I live in tampa now, But I'm int eh same state and would love to give Samurai a home! i've been looking for needy ferrets online because mine (her name's killer, but she's really just a pretty runty little babydoll) is so lonely.
Have you found him a home yet? If so, I'm happy for you, I hope it's perfect, if not, I'm only a few hours away.
I don't have a cage, because I like killer to be free range in my bedroom. Samurai would be just as free if they get along, and they'll both get to visit my boyfriend's house (Where there's a very playful kitten with up to date shots that love to play with them) on weekends, and will be fed a raw/whole prey diet with kibble for when they're home alone and to keep them accepting in case a vet visit is required.
Do you have any questions?

hope you found him a home! Flying ferrets can be lil tricky and like one said its climate and pressure controlled as cargo, but they have that wait outside and that would risk heat exposure.
There is one that you would'nt have to worry about, believe its continental airlines, they actually have a air conditioned and heated van that waits outside the plane to load so you dont have to worry about anything like that, my cousin shows his irish setters all over and had shipped some overseas, I believe continental is the one, but would call and ask and make sure thats the correct airline.
