I have three ferrets, two of which I just adopted last month. I have completely switched my new male over to dehydrated and rehydrated raw, Stella and Chewys, Ziwipeak and AFS, along with my original male, who has been eating this raw since he was 3 months old.
My new female is a huge kibble addict however, and she is not as easy to switch as my other two. She was eating Totally ferret, so when I adopted her I bought a bag. Basically I've gotten her to eat rehydrated Stella and chewy's patties, as long as I mix in some kibble powder. She eats maybe a little over a teaspoon about three times a day, and I dont keep kibble in the cage during the day. How long can she go without kibble if she is eating this raw mix 3 times a day? Ive been leaving kibble in overnight in case she gets hungry, but trying to fill all three up on the raw before I go to sleep. Of course in the morning all the kibble is gone anyway, and I know it isn't just her eating it. I don't want her to starve at night, but I also dont want to raw boys to eat the kibble. Can she go 8+ hours if she is eating the raw mix? Its about 1/3 kibble and the rest is raw. I have not gotten her to eat the dehydrated raw either, which I leave in their bowl in case they get hungry when I'm gone.

If I've figured the amounts correctly(and early in the morning, along with a head cold???), she's now eating approximately 1/2 ounce of the rehydrated S&C daily( 3tsp=1tbsp. 4tbsp=1/4c=2oz, so 1tbsp=1/2oz). Not enough to meet nutritional requirements, I don't think. My tiniest 11 month old eats approx. 1-2 oz per day, and she weighs just over 700 grams.

Thanks for figuring that out for me! That makes sense, and now I can use that calculation to figure out when I dont need the kibble anymore. Good news today though, she finally ate the rehydrated raw WITHOUT any kibble mixed in, and she ate much more in one sitting than she did in a whole day before. Im going to see if this continues for the next few days, and then I will start taking all kibble away! Yay!

Oh, that is excellent! Congratulations. Here's hoping she's decided this tastes much better!

You may want to put some ziwipeak in a ziplock bag with a lot of Totally Ferret so that the ZP starts taking on the odor of the TF and it isnt' a huge shock to her nose.
