I think most of those could go, but the Raw and Whole prey foods in the shopping section helped me a lot, but if it was just moved like you said, I think that would be fine.

I agree that raw and whole prey shopping can be meshed into Nutrition somewhere, that would make more sense anyway, and as for the Shelter, Breeder and Craigslist forums, why not condense them into one catch-all? I agree with spiritualtramp...condense the ferret-acquisition boards into one section, move the shopping and book info as stickies in the appropriate sections, and WOW topics can be consildated into general discussion so it's still search-able but I don't see a reason to sticky it. I'm sure whatever you change, the site will still be brilliant...thanks! Edit: I was just browsing the other pets photos and the other pets nutrition/care and there's a good amount of overlap with people posting nutrition Qs in the photo section (maybe not scrolling down far enough?), so maybe those could be merged also and the whole Odds n Ends area done away with.

I would really like to see the whole prey and raw food listings somewhere so I can find it when i want to order things, Also think should still have Natural Ferret Breeders some where. And I do enjoy looking at everything and sometimes buying things off of members that have stuff for sale, so would like the shopping to stay too!

Okay, so here is what I did. I deleted the WOW Board and the HF Book Club Board. All posts were moved to the Odds and Ends section. I deleted the entire "Find-A-Ferret" category and I relocated the Ferret Breeder forum to a sticky in the General Ferret Chat area. The Shelter Ferrets and Craigslist Ads were all moved to a new subforum located in General Ferret Chat. This subforum is also called "Find-A-Ferret" and it is where all info about ferrets needing to be rehomed (shelter, personal, craigslist, etc) should go. The Whole Prey/Raw Shopping Forum and the Ferret Shopping Forum's have been deleted. All threads from these forums have been moved and condensed into a new subforum (Located in "General Ferret Chat") called Ferret Supermarket. Oh, and I moved the Natural Diet and Care for Dogs and Cats subforum that was in the Odds and Ends section to the "Other Pets" picture forum. This way when people are posting pictures of their other pets they'll see the subforum for learning how to care for them naturally. Thank you everyone for your input!

I love the shopping section but I think that part of the site would be more efficient as a product review and posting section to post stuff you have for sale and to also review products such as toys, bedding and food for sale by large companies ect. its frustrating having so many threads about different products scattered throughout the site. it would be easier to have one place to quickly find reviews

Here's another thought if you want to keep shopping......you may want to have a subsection in each section (where it makes sense). Example: Under the raw section, there could be a shopping subsection. All vendors (Casey's , Hare Today, etc) could be stickied with a summary of the product and necessary contact/web info if it's specific like Casey's and Hare Today. Discussion threads could follow below the stickies Under Enrichments, Natalie could have her business stickied with a description of her stuff and contact info. Any enrichment type product could go here. Cages, bedding, etc. could go here since it's all about environment. Under general stuff, there could be a subsection for prpeople things that are ferret-related..... Natural care section could have a shopping section for herbs and supplements - like velvet antlers The key to the shopping page ges would be that they would need to be a specific source for something. While Nature's Variety is used by quite a few people, it's a product - nota "Store" . I never went to the shopping page just because it was isolated and it mixed up all products. I almos think that the shopping stuff would get more visibility as a subsection in a given category. But then again, ths idea might suck !!! Someone would have to take a good look at the info. that's currently there and review it to see what makes sense. I'd be willing to give this more thought if people like the concept. -jennifer

First, thanks Giuli for figuring out a way to make everyone happy And second, I like mustelidmusk's idea about putting the related products shopping sticky with the corresponding sections. Great idea IMO

I'm a little late to this, but I think doing what you listed is fine.

I'm not minding the streamlining. Its just an adjustment finding things. But I'm getting the hang of it.

I think the find-a-ferret section should stay. That could help an unwanted or soon to be abandoned ferret get out of a bad situation for him/her. I really like that those forums are there for that reason. If word doesn't get out then some of those ferrets may end up set free, or kept in a corner collecting dust and not getting cleaned or taken care of because nobody knew about them being rehomed. It makes me sad to even think about them.

we kept the section for rehoming ferrets, we just made it a subforum in the general ferret chat section.
