Ok, so just HOW bad is beer for ferrets? I mean like licking the edge of a cup?
The reason I ask is it's football season and every saturday we have beer out with them while they watch football. I look down and I notice Munchkin, and a few others, licking beer from around the top of my can. And then i try to separate beer from ferret, and they get very ornery! Like it's their cravings!
NOTE: I don't "FEED" my ferrets beer. They just really really really like it, in the few chances that they've spilled a cup or they've tasted the rim of my can while I watch football.

As long as it's in very small amounts, it shouldn't hurt them. Note, however, that you definitely do not want drunked ferrets wandering about. Can you imagine what they'd be like???

Haha I know, right? Well, I figured since they're so small that a sip could make them drunk...but they're so funny when they come over to the can, taste a tiny bit of all that carbonation, and spazz out...and then come by to try for more. But I will keep a closer eye on my beer (and ferrets!)

My kids love beer too, but obviously it's not good for them. All those carbohydrates and alcohol!

It's the flavour of brewers yeast your little ones crave . It's not good for them, and if you figure on how much alcohol it would take to make a creature that weighs between 1 and 3 lbs impared much less how much would take to reach toxic levels, the easiest is to not allow them the privilege of ingestion. You will find a number of creatures really like beer. Dogs, cats.....humans As we are their caretakers and we have a responsibility of keeping the little brats safe, I would think that it would be safer just to have a rule that the ferrets are on the wagon and that all beer must be kept off the floor ciao

i wouldnt risk letting them have it or keeping it somewhere they could get it. Heather has a god point. they are tiny, it wouldnt take much to mess them up. i dont have any little alcoholics though my little girls favorite toy is a bottle of wild turkey filled with rice
