I swear the Chordoma is coming back. Its starting to look like a ball again a little bit at the end of the tail. About two weeks ago the stitches and scab came off. And I noticed a few days ago it looked a little red and swollen.

Unfortunately, chordomas can come back. But it's also possible that an ingrown stitch is trying to work its way out. During the healing process for bones (although this may be more cartilage), you may have swelling/redness/tenderness as bone heals, and this can go on for quite a while. (about a year in my case)
I hope it's not the chordoma, but... If the chordoma is returning, I would try a holistic/integrative vet that treats ferrets. If you act quickly, you may be able to stop the chordoma from developing. I've seen some pretty remarkable results with the herbals/neutraceuticals. Since chordomas are usually more of a nuissance than a major threat, the alternative route would not be very risky while the darn thing is trying to return.

Oh good!!! I'm so happy happy that his tail has settled down. I'll be curious to ee if my Kachina develops a chordoma - she has a slight kink in the tip of her tail. Hugs to Skunkers! -jennifer
