Hi. My name is Janet and I am proudly owned by 2 furbabies. Wicket was the first to join our big family. He is a 11 month old male and a silver roan (I was told). He is such a sweetheart and a squishy boy. Mud joined the family about 3 weeks ago as a pile of skin and bones. His vet check was well but he hadn't been fed in more than a week except stray crumbs. Apparently his former 'mom' was broke...Mud is 3 years old. He is a reddish brown color with very light flesh colored undercoat and has a mask. I am entertaining the idea of changing their diet from Zupreem to all natural (raw). I raised my GSD on the BARF diet and although she has been gone a few years now I remember the basics of her diet. Along with the Zupreem they do get soup especially since Mud has needed to pack on the weight which he has done. He is still a little bony but getting so much better. I have a family consisting of 4 children from the ages of 9 months up to 14 years of age. I have a wonderful fiance. My mother, father, and grandmother (whom we all take turns caring for) and atm that's it. Lol. It's a busy, exciting, fun household most of the time. Thanks for taking the time to read my little intro. Attachments:

Hi and welcome to the forum Please feel free to prowl, read past posts, ask questions and generally enjoy exploring the site. You will find everyone friendly and helpful. Check out our nutritional site and see if any switching methods that migh appeal to you. As you're already feeding a soupy, you might find it easiest to use that as your base. If you are interested in a one on one assistance sign up for our mentoring program. It will be up and running again by the end of the month and we're presently taking applications. So, welcome and I hope I will be seeing you around. ciao

Thank you so much for the welcome Heather. I am very excited to learn more about raw feeding or at the least a partial raw diet for my furbabes. I know the health benefits my GSD and Rottie earned after feeding the BARF diet. My GSD had gotten shots for a couple of years due to 'allergies' and as soon as she got really started on the BARF diet she no longer needed an allergy shot for the rest of her life! It was amazing and I am hoping to see the same results with the ferret furkiddos. Muddy Boy has had such a rough past and I know nothing I do now can totally reverse what the past has done but I am hoping that he can be built back up and be a stronger, healthier ferret from here on out. Mud barely lifted his head when I brought him home and honestly I wondered if he was just too far gone but the will to live was there and his vet check revealed he wasn't sick but was just famished and dehydrated. He ate with gusto from the moment he got his first soup and hasn't looked back. Now he has started rewarding us with his huge leaps and twists in the air. The other day I had bent over to pick something up and suddenly got nipped in the tush. I turned expecting Wicket but it was Mud! Lol. I was delighted and still am to see the transformation from quiet, weak little baby to bouncing, troublesome man. It is wonderful.

I want to congratulate you in taking in this little one, you have a wonderful heart . Isn't the transformation amazing, and so wonderful to see I wish I could say that I've never seen this but I have all too often (I run a small private hospice and rescue) I specialize in hard cases, the little ones that people have given up on . I'm glad that Mud is learning how to be a ferret. Good luck, watch your butt ciao

Oh they are adorable little fuzzums . You do realize you can't get away with just a couple of teasers like that, don't you? You've got to post a slew of them in the photo section!!!
