Hi everyone! I'm new to this forum...I decided to join as people recommended this site for raw foods. I'm 22 and my boyfriend and myself are an unofficial ferret shelter/ferret re-homer in the Auburn, Alabama area. We have traveled far and wide to rehome some adorable babies who were unwanted/mistreated.
We have 6 ferrets of our own, spoiled rotten with the best of love and soft, fuzzy bedding that I make. Here is our crew (in order that we got them:)
Pooh Bear (3 yrs)
She's a panda baby, the sweetest and liveliest little girl who pokes your face all over with her nose every time you pick her up.
Munchkin (3 yrs)
She's not a DEW, but very close to it! She has faint gray markings on her. She looks like an angel but is secretly a very snobby, loner fuzzbutt who hates men (but loves me ) She is a chubby little kibble fiend, also, which we are trying to change.
Jack (2 yrs)
Jack is a precious FAT bandit with an obsession with stealing paper towel rolls, as well as remote controls. He is a total sweetheart and loves to give kisses on your eyelids
Jasmine (2yrs)
Jasmine, AKA "Petite Fromage", is our tiniest little girl, weighing in at just under a pound. She and Jack were identical when we got them a month apart, and then he grew and she stayed itty bitty. She's fiesty and nips your heels when she wants to play but she is our most active furball.
Mickey (Unknown, about 3 years)
Here is Mickey, one of our rescues. He and his brother, Rascal, were abused and thrown across the room for being bad and fed dog food. He is the most mischievous ferret yet, climbing on top of refrigerators and leaping off (resulting in a life-threatening injury, poor baby). He and I bonded the time that we had to take him in to the emergency room, I remember singing to him and loving him with all I got and now he's Momma's little boy...a big sweetheart with beautiful chocolate brown markings and loves to be held like a baby.
Rascal (Unknown, about 4 years)
This is Rascal, our independent little guy. He was rescued with Mickey, and both were in terrible shape. He has a natural mohawk and a gray/white coat that gives him the nickname "old man". He has a mousy face, hates kisses (thinks we're eating his face ) and is a bit of a loner. Oddly enough, Munchkin (the other loner) and him bond really well and cuddle nightly.
Well, those are our guys! We've decided not to take any more in right now as we pursue a raw diet. So far, all have taken to it except Munchkin...the kibble fiend.
*If anybody wants to rescue a ferret or wants to abandon one in our area, the georgia area, florida area, etc. Please contact me. I see plenty of people on craigs list advertising their ferrets, and sadly, I can't take them all in. Please let me know if you are interested. Also, if you know anyone who can't take their ferret anymore, please let me know.
