I want to make a remote litter box I think. I am sick of the smell of litter (even clean and esp messy) and think that it would help. Once I get my iguana's cage done and my room all arranged I think I can fit one on the tray under the FN. There are already holes cut into the side of the cage with little plastic brackets to attach tunnels too (I believe they are Super Pet FerreTrail brackets). I don't want to buy a bunch of expensive ferreTrain tubes, so will a black pvc/dryer hose work (like the ones pictured in this thread) to give him enough grip for a vertical drop? I am afraid he will not use it too because he has been pooping in the corner of his bottom level (where the box is) so well for so long.... I am still undecided, but I am definitely considering it as it would give him more space and hopefully (?) keep toys and food out of the litter and litter out of everywhere else. I don't really have any fancy tools, or the $ for them. What is the best way to cut a hole in the tupperware?

I have a question, am I suppose to drill holes into the litter box? if there isn't any air getting in, will it get really stinky? even if it's cleaned everyday?
I haven't read all the instructions yet, but by the pictures I see nothing yet.

The only thing I would add is to invest in a hole saw for perfect fittings plus you can use it to make fun toys ( I'll have to multiple post once per pic since I'm on my iPhone app ) Attachments:

This is their rice box but it could just as well be the remote litterbox if the media was changed. Attachments:

I remember someone saying they used a coffee can to make a hole in a rubbermaid digbox. Simply heated then end of the can on the stove top, and pressed it into the plastic to melt it through.

I guess you could wear oven mitts but then you wouldn't have the same grip.

Yes, you'd definitely have to wear something! But since you'd simply be pushing it into the plastic, handling and dexterity shouldn't be a problem.
