I have a superpet, I like it but it gets hard to clean, the plastic has a really weird texture, and it has ridges on the sides, making ot harder to spill out, but a pain in tha but to clean out. So it realy depends.

I have a Marshall's folding mini mansion, which from the looks of it, is just a single-story regular mansion. It's okay... but all the good points are the ways that it resembles a FN! I use it as the "away" cage at my parents' house.
The penthouse is a nice size, but has all the usual drawbacks, like tiny doors and plastic shelves that tend to be a pain and break.
Seriously, go for the FN. It's a big time- and money-saver in the long run.

Absolutely hated my super pet. Pain in the posteriour to clean, etc. I adore my FN! So easy to clean, and when my adrenal girl has her surgery next month, all I have to do is close off the ramp, and I have a sick cage as well as a regular for the others!

I'm glad you like it! They are such great things. I forgot to add this to my con list but you should get some ramp and shelf covers to protect your fuzzies. The wired ramp is bad for their feet and I always fear they could break a leg. The shelves need to be covered because they can get a toe stuck in the small gap between the plastic and metal holding the shelf. One ferret we know for sure died from shock after dangling in the shelf all night. My little girl Loki got her toe stuck and hung their briefly and screamed and peed on herself before I could free her. I actually e-mail Midwest and asked them to send me a check to pay for shelf covers because of that. They happily complied and are in the process of changing the design on the shelf for the third time. BUT all that aside I STILL LOVE this cage. If you don't want to buy pre-made ones then you can make your own or use blankets to cover the shelves and tube socks to cover the ramps. I did that before I got custom bedding and it didn't look horrible but everything was mismatched.

i just made a ramp cover last night. i tried astro turf liek i had seen in pictures of another members fn 142. that didnt go so well so i made my own out of fleece. the shelves worry me like crazy. i need to make some covers that will hook to the cage because my fuzzies keep pulling up the blankets i have on there now

I second that, I'm getting 2 cover sets from Rose by the end of the year. Creations By Angie is good too and her proceeds go to her rescues and to support shelters as well. www.creationsbyangie.com/index.html

For now- duct tape the shelves where the gap is. Better safe than sorry!
With the ramp covers, it's a good idea to cover them until they get the hang of it. Tootsie just CANNOT have ramp covers. She rips them all up until she gets them off and has ruined at least one cover, so I leave them off. They barely use the ramps here, anyway.

The shelf cover I have for my FN is pretty basic. Measure 2 pieces of cotton to be about 2 inches larger then the shelf. Sew them together and then measure out 4 6 inch long strips of cloth. Fold the strips until each is about 1/2" wide and sew to secure the fold. You can then sew the strips to each corner of your square. This shelf cover has worked wonderfully for me since each side of the shelf is fully covered. The only problem I've had is that my ferrets do like to borrow around under the cover if I don't tie it tight enough. Other then that, it keeps their toes from getting caught on anything. Especially helpful since my boys don't use the ramp even if it's in the cage...
