Today I offered her 1 oz of veal chunks and 1 oz of gizzards and hearts and it was all gone by the time I got home 12 hours later. tonight she is getting a chicken leg. She is happy and romping around in her playpen. I started her antibiotics today and a little concerned that her stools were a little dark today. May pick up some pepcid tomorrow. Stools are still pretty loose and stinky. Hopefully the fecal culture will come back this week.

She ate most of her chicken cutlets and gizzards today. Tonight she gets cornish game hen. Quick question..Will her stools ever firm up? They are awfully watery. She is acting well. Will keep giving her the meds and hope this all clears up.

once the meds clear up her infection and eats more bone her stools should firm up they will not as firm as when kibble fed and always be little on the wet side . you can also give her a little pumkin the fiber will help firming up the stools and push out the bad bacteria. just remember plain canned pumpkin not the pie filling . when feeding only muscle meats sprinkle a little egg shell powder on them will help to

Well the fecal culture came back with nothing to show. She is perky and eating. Today she had chicken with gizzards. Tonight is chicken wing and thigh. I got my shipment from Hare Today and now have a fully stocked freezer. Tomorrow she will get rabbit with beef organ meats and duck necks in the evening.

I don't think she is eating much of the bones but I am including them. She definitely eats more during the day then at night. She didn't eat much of her beef organs and rabbit pieces today. She is eating some duck necks and duck meat now though. I got my Wysong food today and will be giving that tomorrow along with smelts and her evening chick.

that explains why her stools are so runny . You mite have to help her with the bones by cutting them lengthwise and then in 1" segments till she learns to eat them. if you can (if you have the time) feed her the bones first with less meat , then give her the meat after she eats them hunger mite need to be a little motivator . Calcium and bone marro nutrients are a important part of the RAW diet so we need to get her better at eating them . beef organs are much stroner in smell and taste then chicken or turkey it mite take a little time for her to get used to eating them remember to use the amount(size) that a chicken organ would be if feeding organs . daily or a few times a week you will need to feed less at each feeding . organs should make up about 10% of there total diet in a week Some ferrets never like eating some organs such as liver I still have to hide my liver in peaces of meat or Hershy will not eat it she can be such a drama queen lol

Well Geisha seems particularly happy today. Especially since today she got a playmate. Max is a 3-4 yr old male who I got off Craigslist because the person got him from someone that wasn't taking care of him at all. Figured she needed a playmate so we decided to get one. they will be separated for now until I can get Max on a raw diet. He is huge!!! He is almost double her size. The person only had him for two months but said he was skin and bones when he got him. Did a good job putting the weight back on. Will let you know how this goes.
