Sorry for my fairly long absence, it's een a rough time of it. We started babysitting a pair for someone and now my guys are picking up some terribly frustrating habits....like just pooping everywhere...and so far the tricks we used to train ours don't mean diddly. Trouble is still being a stubborn we one and the others are sortof finicky. I am in the middle of laying wire in the back yard so we can play outside with them safely. It's been rocky for a while. I think what happened with diesel was a combination of a few issues, like the weight loss when we switched litter a while back and a few other things, he stopped eating and drinking, and got dehydrated fast mostly overnight while we were sleeping, and I tried everything, I even had fluids administered under the skin(don't remember what thats called) I am back though and going to try to switch the new guys over to raw as well. So our visitors are Cloe and Cody and so far neither has an interest in live prey.

Welcome back, it's good to see you again I find whenever you get new ferrets in the radom pooping happens. I believe it's as much about territory as anything else. I found that in about 4 to 6 months (yes it takes that long) things settle down and everyone figures out who's poopy box is who's. I'm really sorry about Diesel. Ferrets go down so quickly and some times nothing seems to bring them back. I lost one, Attila, a few weeks ago and he had been healthy (I guess not so) but happy, playing, eating well, romping. I came into the room and he was dead. The vet figures a massive coronary...he had a heart attack..poor bum. So, where are you at diet wise and what have you tried with your newbies? What are they eating right now? I will check in with you later It's good to see you back ciao
