Not really, I'd have to keep her locked up with the food... my cats free roam the house and come in/go out as they please. I suppose I could take the food up and just keep re-offering it every few hours. Either that or keep preparing the same stuff again and again if it gets eaten by the other cats.
Problem with cats is they MUST eat at least once every 24 hours or else they can get very sick. So I could offer her the moist food all day long... but I have to give her back the plain kibble before days end... :-\

That may work. No, I don't like any of my animals to go very long without food either. Maybe at the end of the day when you give the plain kibble back, keep the moist food there too. That way she gets use to the idea that the new food isn't going away...and she can get use to the smell.

Sorry, been a bit busy today. We altered Miss Liddle's cage to make better use of the space. Good news! Peepers is eating the moistened kibble! Not with gusto or anything... but it's definite progress. Have not given her dry kibble in 24 hours. Not so sure about Liddle tho... it didn't seem like she ate much of what was given last night. We'll probably remove all food for a few hours before we offer the new food tonight.

Yay Peepers!!! Don't worry about Liddle. Your plan sounds great! She will get the hang of the new food before you know it! If you are concerned, you could try to spoon feed Liddle a few bites. I had to do this for several of mine, and with in a few days they would be eating on their own. Ferrets can be like kids sometimes!

I did pick up some baby food for Liddle as I read several people say their ferts loved it. I got chicken, turkey and beef... how do I give it to her, though?

Try introducing it to her on your finger and see if she licks it off. If she does, why not put a little bit on her kibble to see if she eats it?

Well, she DEFINITELY does not care for Gerber turkey w/ gravy baby food. She wouldn't taste it, so I smeared it on her lips... she licked and got a taste and then made this gagging sound! LOL!
She still isn't eating the moistened food... I'll leave it in her cage overnight and see about it in the morning. *sigh*
What's my next tactic? Soup?

Okay. We will go for the next step. Don't worry...mine would never try the baby food no matter how hard I begged! Soak your food with even more broth for tomorrows feeding. You don't have duk soup right? Do you happen to have any of the ferret vite (it really isn't recommended because of the high content of sugar, but for temporary use it is good for bribing!) I would use a combination of the duk soup, and a little squirt of the vite or tone to temp them to try my mixture. Do you have a medicine syringe? You could try that (ask Guili....I had to do that as well). Hang in there, you are doing great!

I've seen duk soup somewhere locally... so I should be able to find it again. Might be a week before I can go look though. I do have ferretone and a medicine syringe I can use.

Well, just don't give too much ferretone because of the high sugar content. You can soften the kibble with the broth until it is completely soupie, and then try to use the syringe to feed her. You might be able to find the duk soup in the petstore, I am not sure though.

Ummm... checked my ferretone and it doesn't contain sugar... Ingredients: Soybean Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Lecithin, Wheat Germ Oil, Vitamin A Supplement, Vitamin D Supplement, Vitamin E Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Biotin, Mono and Diglycerides, BHT and Propyl Paraben (as preservatives).
I'm not thrilled about those last several ingredients though... so I have been limiting it to less than 1/4 tsp per day... usually not even that much.

I am sorry! I am thinking ferretvite and talking about ferrettone. The vite is full of sugar. Having four kids, and a zoo in my house has somewhat fried my mind.

LOL! no worries... I get that way too from time to time. Nothing really to update, unfortunately. I haven't been feeling too hot, so no new efforts on my end. Liddle is still eating dry ferret kibble and Peepers is on moistened cat kibble. Tootie and Rufio are eating canned. Suspect that 2 of my female mice may have come pregnant... am going to wait til Friday to weigh them again and decide if I should put them in with the male yet...

Sorry you haven't been feeling well. I know what it is like those last few weeks of pregnancy! I've been there a time....or 4! As for Liddle, you could always just add a teeny little bit of water or broth to the dry kibble....just to introduce the idea of moisturized food to her. Hang in there!
