Crickets are good (just be sure they dont jump over the edge! Haha! Close the bathroom door and stuff a towel under the doorcrack so even if they do jump the tub, no one escapes. Mealworms and earthworms can also be given, but they don't really move that fast and as a result really arent that fun to the ferret.

palmetto bugs are cool too! haha. i live out in the boonies so bugs come with the territory. i just let one of my guys loose when i see one and they have a ball chasing them. jack actually eats them after they've been dead for a while. i think it's gross but he enjoys it.

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!! PALMETTO BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rather than feed them to my ferrets, I'd saddle one up and ride it- to work just to save gas money - those suckers are HUGE!!!!! -jennifer

Yep, I grew up in Clearwater, Florida....and THAT was a LONG time ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There could be different names/associations for what we called Palmetto bugs.... we also called them wood roaches. they were the 2-inch , oval, succulent, flightless roaches that had to be taken out with bird-shot!!! Speaking of gross bugs..... got mole crickets??? -jennifer
