I use wood shaving type litter for the ferrets and when it's time to change out the boxes I bag it up and bring it to my mother-in-laws...she spreads it around her rabbitry to keep the rats away... she raises flemish giants and a few other breeds, she also has a 205lb Irish Wolfhound!

I know of some people who've tried this, and unfortunately, it didn't work

a wild weasel moved into your garage? that's pretty cool.

He/she is the best rodent catcher I've ever had. It used to be so creepy when you'd open the main garage door to drive the car in and the mice would literally swarm around the garage to get out of the way. Now, I don't see any mice and the rodent damage (chewed wires, damaged Christmas decorations, nests in my engine and dead rodents in my bird seed containers). The little weasel can stay as long as he likes. I was surprised how much smaller they were than our ferrets, but he/she is still a very effecient hunter. The only unfortunate thing I can see about this partnership is that it also hunts the song birds, and I'm fairly sure that it was a weasel kill that got a grouse that was sleeping in a ground nest behind the garage. I will take the little hunter as he is though, I appreciate his hunting skills. ciao
