Ok just making sure there was meat on it ! I'm glad the snacking helped! And the amount they're eating a day is really good! Let me know how the wings go!! My ferrets love wings, so hopefully it will go well! Haha one more step Rainbow and then different kinds of meat!! Yay I'm glad they liked the ground beef!! It's a very good source of iron for them! Ok so for a weekly schedule they should be fed RMB (raw meaty bones) 4 times a week (thigh, wing, leg, neck, back, etc.) Boneless meat 2 days a week (chicken, beef, duck, turkey, pork, etc.) and organs 1 day a week (liver and kidney) Here's an example of a good schedule: Monday:Chicken Leg Tuesday:Turkey Neck Wednsday:Chicken Wing Thursday:Turkey Neck Friday:Pork Saturday:Beef Sunday:Pork liver It doesn't exactly have to follow that, but that's a good example of variety. Chicken, pork, beef, and turkey are really good meats that are readily available. And once you have a schedule you don't have to keep it that way forever. After a month or two you can start subsituting different kinds of meat. Like instead of chicken legs, turkey necks. Just to add more variety! Let me know if you have any questions!

Sorry, I'm back haha.
Everything is going great. :3 I've been alternating between wings and legs, but either case they eat almost all the bone. I see both of them eating it, too, so I know it's not just Rainbow. They are on the same page now and it's pretty cool.
Should I be starting with the organ meats now?

Haha that's fine :-)! They're doing awesome! Yep I would try some liver or kidney now and see how they do! Let me know! Then after that we can start introducing different kinds of meat!!

Well it was disgusting but I fed them chicken livers :3
Saphy hasn't taken to it yet.. so I will be mixing it with chicken meat until she does.. Does that sound okay?
Also, how many livers or hearts should they get on the organ days?

Perfect timing!
Oh yes! Livers are terrible! Mixing it with the other meat sounds like a good idea. If that doesn't work try making a soup with chicken liver and some meat with it. Hearts are actually considered muscle meat, but it's good to feed with livers so the poops aren't to bad. Per ferret I would feed 2 livers and 2 hearts (can also feed kidneys). If that doesn't fill them up you can give them some boneless meat too.

Well, it's going okay. Rainbow eats the liver like a champ but Saphy still wrinkles up her nose while eating it. It's kind of funny though, because if I leave a liver in their food dish during playtime, Saphy often takes it out and tries to hide it in the kitchen; not because she wants it, but because she wants it out of her cage! My whole city had a snow day today due to a bad blizzard, so I got to stay home with the girls. I guess one thing I'm concerned with is that Saphy still doesn't seem to have any energy. She just wants to sleep, and she's actually sleeping in my sweatshirt right now. x3 Maybe she's just old? I feel bad for Rainbow because she doesn't have anyone to play with, and I worry because Saphy's just not what she used to be in the energy department. She's nearing the age that our older ferret was put down at, so I'm hoping that's all it is.

LOL! What a stinker!! Well at least they're eating it! Saphy's energy level is probably old age and the adrenal. I know Chewie's energy was really low, went up a little bit when I started feeding him raw, and then when I started him on the lupron it shot up! How old is Saphy? My guess is if she's over four, she's probably getting to that slowing down age. Now would be a good time to get another ferret ! But seriously if you are thinking about getting another ferret, I would do it before Saphy passes away to make it easier on Rainbow. If not just play with Rainbow as much as you can! Back to raw feeding! I think it's time to start trying new meats! Pork and turkey seem to be easier to get the ferrets to eat, but you could also try beef, duck, lamb, etc. Let me know how introducing a new meat goes! If they're having trouble eating a different meat, you can try making a soup out of chicken and putting chunks of the new meat in it.

Okay ^^
I'd love to get a new buddy for Rainbow, because I hate watching her get bored so easily.. I can only entertain her so well compared to another ferret. But I'm not allowed to get another one. :/
Mom bought beef recently, but it was seasoned and everything so I wouldn't use that. She got a new package today so I'll divvy it up. I already know that they like beef since we gave them a taste before. But I'll let you know how it goes!

Ahh I see! That's too bad :-(.
Anyways, yep no seasoned meat! Let me know how they like the beef!! Oliver likes some beef, but Chewie loves beef (well guess he loves everything, lol!)

I apologize. I haven't been able to be on because of a major flood in my city. abcnews.go.com/US/story?id=7172039&page=1www.wday.com/The girls are doing great. I'm alternating beef, liver, and chicken legs/wings. If we have to evacuate, sadly they'll be fed their leftover kibble, since we won't be able to take a lot with us. But I don't think that will be happening. I won't be able to be on though until things return to normal, which I hope will be soon.. Sorry.

Oh man that's scary!! You and your family are in my thoughts!! I totally understand that if you have to evacute that they'll be fed kibble. We just won't have to work as hard the next time around ! Sounds like they have some pretty good variety! When this flood passes try adding one more meat and then you'll almost be ready to graduate!! Don't feel bad about updating! Just stay safe!! Talk to you later!

Okay, my mom and I are leaving before we're not allowed to leave our houses (6pm tomorrow CDT) and going to my grandma's. So they will be on kibble but I'll be sure to start up meat again ASAP. Hopefully we'll be back on Monday so it won't be long.
Thanks for your understanding.
