So my mother in law doesn't understand this simple sentence "we need to turn the A/C on." I have decided that I am going to take over the electic bill so that I can turn the A/C on as much as I want to ensure that the "Animal Room" gets enough air. Because of a skylight and a huge window, the sun pours into that room and temperatures can get above 80. Unfortunately, this is the only room we can house the ferrets and rodents in. I have heard that rodents will not breed if the temperature is too high. The breeding group that I have right now has been together for weeks and only one female even seems pregnant. I am trying to cool the room by lowering blinds and having a huge fan running, but its not doing much.
What is the maximum temperature that rodents will deal with and still breed?

Depends on what housing you use. When measuring temps, measure inside the housing. Mice and rats will thrive at 20-25C but can live at 25-30C. They won't stop breeding at high temps, they will die of heat stress.
