My lot always used to get the trimmings of meat when I cooked (cooked and raw depending what I cook), and always loved it and bickered over the "choice" bits. A few weeks ago I bought a bulk order of frozen prey, so they've been getting more of this, and the meat trimmings have been popped in the freezer for ducksoup instead. Last night I took up a big bowl of lamb trimmings from the stew I made, all stuff they normally LOVE, but I got the strangest reaction....They all came charging into the shed when they saw the food bowl, and were clamouring to get to it when I put it down. They took one sniff, then looked at me as if I was stupid. Bear then picked a piece and trotted off to his corner to eat it, as did Onion. FuzzButt on the opther hand took a good long look at the contents of the bowl, literally glared at me (I could feel the waves of disgust coming from her!), turned her back and stalked away!!!! I was so shocked by her attitude I couldn't help but laugh! She seemed so disapointed that it wasn't a rat or chick or other "yummy" that she wasn't even going to bother trying it, and made it very clear to me that she was not amused at what I'd done! (Though no doubt she had some once I'd left and she realised there was nothing else on offer tonight). I guess my guys are wanting to go prey/raw ahead of me!

I've found the same thing. If prey is available they will take that hands down. I usually feed prey and whole meats in the evening when everyone is bedded down for the night. It prevents petty bickering (when you have 15 fuzzbutts, some just don't get along and add cherished food bits into that equation and it gets really nasty real quick ) So they're all bouncing around in their cages and begging for their food treats, last night was chicken necks. Just about everyone went to bed after checking what was in the bowls. The looks were what they heck is this...where's my mousies . All the necks (or most of them anyway) were eaten when they got let out to roam today but they weren't really pleased with me last night I made it up to them though, I had a bin of mousies that needed to be made ready for the freezer so we had a canned hunt and they know there's always mice for treats that night. ciao

How do they give such LOOKS without having eyebrows? I was in a rush the other night and the boys' dinner was still frozen in the middle... The huffiness was palpable, and there were leftovers in the morning. They didn't even bother to stash it, so I swear their revenge was me scraping congealed liver into the garbage.

Yup, all the meat was gone when I checked, so they all relented. Day old chicks for tea tonight to make up for my thoughtless-ness
