Hey I know its only been around a week or so but I havent heard from you, if you could check in at least once a week it would be good (especially so your thread doesnt get sent to the vault and/or deleted), those who have inactive threads get deleted and I dont want that to happen to yours!!
But I know you must be busy probably so whenever you can post some updates then do, your close to graduating, all we need is to set a feeding sched. that will be sent and approved by Guili.
Im curious how your new little one is fitting in too!
Hope to hear from you soon!

oh man, sorry!
This weeks been so awful. I had a close coworker die and lots going on at home.
They've eaten cornish hen, lots of chicken, beef, and a little pork. I tried some egg this morning, it was a no go. I tried raw and scrambled.
oh and they had turkey
Tomorrow is a chicken and organ day.

Now Im not 100% positive (but I will ask to make sure) but I "THINK" that ALL your ferrets need to be totally on raw and before graduating....so my question now is to your new little fellow...is he/she going to be on a raw diet, and if so how far along is he/she? I got my little Mimi right before I was about to graduate with my other 2 ferrets and it just so happened she was on raw completely within a week of getting her so they all graduated at once (its good, the young ones learn/take to raw so much more quickly!).
So let me know about the new one, and in the mean time start thinking up a sched. and everyday try to include variety with the list of foods I posted in a pervious thread. (just as a reminder you may want to include things such as: organs given on certain days, eggs, and also be sure to label which days are bone meat days and which are just meat chunk days...in case you perfer to feed bone some days and w/out bone others rather than both everyday, obviously thats all up to you.
*Also just so you know I dont approve the actual sched., I send it to Guili the administrator who goes over it with me and then she will approve it. So make sure you include anything and everything you feel is necessary to mention, and keep a variety of meats used.
Im so proud of you (and almost jealous LOL), you got on a raw diet in a short time period...thats great!! (It took me like 6 months! haha)
So take your time if you need to, to set it up and we will get rolling with it.

well I'm not getting the little one. The girl decided at the last minute to keep her and offered me another, but the other one looks like my little girl and I was set on the other so I told her no.
I feel bad, but I felt had I gone down there she might have kept the other too and I'd be out the $125 for the original ferret plus gas. And she was going to charge me $111 for the other one. Messy situation, whatever.
I've gotten to the point with mine that I feed them gizzards and heats on chicken days.
Their schedule looks like this...
Monday:
Breakfast: 1 chicken wing a piece, gizzards and hearts Lunch: I trim a thigh and take some of the boneless meat and a few gizzards Dinner: The rest of the thigh( I leave plenty of meat on it, they seem to prefer I cut some extra meat off so they can get to the bone faster)
Tuesday:
Breakfast: Steak Lunch: Steak Dinner: Red meat soup bones or other boney beef. Its not a lot of bone, its usually a smaller bone for them to chew on plus I've been working on solidifying their poop a bit.
Wednesday:
Breakfast: boneless pork Lunch: bone in pork(I cannot remember the name of what it is ugh. Sorry, I'll catch the name when I pick up another package) Dinner: mroe bone in pork( I vary it..knuckles, bone in pork chops, pork ribs, etc) and a little boneless pork chunks, depends how much they want.
Thursday:
Breakfast: steak Lunch: more steak Dinner: smaller steak with bone and beef liver
Friday:
Breakfast: Slice up a turkey leg, they get that meat in the morning Lunch: turkey leg, they get the bone and the left over meat on it Dinner: turkey thigh(they dont finish it its too big, haha)
Saturday:
Cornish hen day. I cut up and feed them various parts. They usually finish a whole cornish hen in one day, but not all the bones.
I trying out some eggs, buuuuut they arent really having it.
Sunday:
this day varies. I base it on good deals I find in stores. I try and feed them something different on sundays like lamb. If I cant find anything more "exotic" in the store then its another chicken day.
If its a chicken day they get legs in the morning, wings for lunch, and a thigh with sides of gizzards, hearts, and liver.
I'm confident they are getting everything so I hope I'm doing good.
Let me know =)

Time to Graduate!!! Now there is one last thing I want you to do (and then I am moving this thread to the "newbie switch archive": If you haven't already, it might be a good idea to start popping in to NaturalFerrets. I know forum is small right now, but that is because they are switching to the new forum from a yahoo! group. There are many many senior raw feeders on there and it would be wise to make use of their knowledge. I try and advise all my "completed switchers" to get on there and post a bit. I still want you to say on HF, but I want you to "broaden your horizons" by getting a bit of NaturalFerret's info as well. Sound good? www.NaturalFerrets.comYou'll probably run in to the Holistic Ferret Mentors on there. This is where THEY go to ask THEIR questions on natural diet (I do too). Let me know if you get any good info out of here. and....... Now that you've completed the switch, have had your feeding schedule reviewed, and been advised to check out NaturalFerrets, its time to retire this thread to the "newbie switch archive"! No one (yourself included) will be able to post in this thread anymore once its been moved to the archive. Please begin posting your diet-related questions in the "whole prey" "raw" or "general feeding questions and discussion" area. We encourage EVERYONE that is archived to continue posting. Feeding a natural diet is a learning PROCESS, there is much to learn after making the switch. We (your mentor and I) will run a detailed "check up" with you (via PM or email) at the 3 month, 6 month, 9 month, and 1 year anniversary since "going natural" just to make sure all is going well and that you aren't having any issues. Feel free to jump in and help to answer newbie questions. One of the ways you can learn is through teaching. We hope you stick around so that we can celebrate the 1 year anniversary of starting your babies on raw with you!
