Hermes is actually the reason that my boyfriend is even willing to try out ferrets through fostering. He has a very similar personality and appearance to a ferret even though I didn't plan it that way.
I found an amazing amount of stashed toys, bits of plastic, and torn up paper when I was ferret proofing. He's an adorable little boy but he can be such a terror with all of the foot biting and bopping at 5 am.
I got him when he was 4 months old through Craigslist because his former owners were giving him up due to his high energy. Even now that he's about 7 months old, he still spends close to a quarter of his day playing (attacking pom-poms, terrorizing the adult cats, chewing on my hair...) so I suspect that he'll be a very high energy cat for the next few years. At least he'll keep Buddy from aging too quickly since Buddy's 9 and the 2 of them just happen to be the best of friends.

Pretty kitties! Adonis reminds me a cat I had as a kid that passed away a few years back.

Adonis is beautiful. I just wish he would accept raw as food. He's my diva though and that's not ever going to change.

I'm a little sad and depressed right now.
After several months of deliberations, my boyfriend and I have come to the agreement that Buddy will be going to a shelter.
For almost his entire life, he has all but refused to use the litter box and it's getting even worse now. I've had to resort to constantly keeping an eye on him so I could put him in a box so he would pee on a bed or anything else that he considers a bathroom at that particular moment. This is after switching brands of litter so it would be easier for him to breathe in addition to scooping twice a day and scrubbing all the boxes once every other week. In addition to that, he's also taken to consistently howling from 6 am to 2 pm every day no matter what I do.
I feel horrible for having to make this decision but every potential home that we've found for him ended up backing out at the last moment. I've also put so much time and love into this cat that I'm also kind of scared for him. He's very people friendly though so it shouldn't take very long for him to find a new family.
I really hope that I'm doing the best thing for him but I also have to keep on reminding myself that I've really done all I can for him. The only way I could do more is if he was an only pet but there's no way DBF would ever agree to letting anyone else ever have Hermes.

about your cat peeing everywhere. Have you checked for an uti. My cat did the same thing. Unfortunately the vet that we were going to could not figure out a simple problem and we had to return him to the shelter. In most cases they do not let you take an animal that you surender. But we explained the situation and they let us take him home. But if you have not done this I would highly recomend it.
