Congrats on all the litters and especially the gerbil babies! You should post some pictures if you can.

Hmmm...yesterday I was doing some cleaning and noticed I couldn't fine the lone baby with my one gerbil pair, looked all through the cage and found it dead buried in the bedding, I'm not impressed and don't really feel like waiting another month to see if they do better so I fed them off. I'll leave the one pair and see how they do but I think it's just not worth it compared to mouse production.

They definitely don't have the numbers that mice have and I don't think they breed as frequently. I've got my pair together so we shall see how long it takes them to produce anything. I was told they were still a little young. He said it would take them a few weeks to get going. Sorry you are having trouble with them.

Haven't updated in a while apparently! I gave up on the gerbils, too low of production to be worth it and honestly now that we are down to only 4 ferrets I am up to my eyeballs in mice. Which is good, I haven't been great about feeding off pinkies/fuzzies since I wanted more of a meal but now I can afford to vary more, today the cat and them split a litter of 2 day old and 3.5 week old mice for dinner. I have 12 breeding females, 3 males, plus 6 females ready to breed in a couple weeks and a cute light tan male I just held back today. Need to call the feed store and get more Mazuri 6f ordered though, almost out. Looks like 100 pounds of food lasts me 5 months.
