She is doing well. I'm having a hard time making a mush for her. She likes the chicken broth but she eat the kibble separate from the broth. She will lick the broth and then eat pieces of kibble. Jaycee suggested heating the kibble with the broth to help. I did that but it didn't really soften the kibble. I don't know if the kibble I have is really hard or what. It takes forever to get the kibble soft.

Have you tried to blend the kibble in the food processor yet? If not, you can always soak the kibble in the fridge overnight and try that instead. You may want to heat it up a little before serving...to knock the chill off.

Sorry I haven't been on in a couple of days. Things have been crazy around my house. Anyways I don't really use the food processor so I had to find it. I was able to find it. That food is so hard, I can't believe it. It did help it made it little chunks. I was able to throw a small piece of chicken in there and she ate some of it. I figured she would be able to smell it. One small step closer. I'm hoping she will eat the rest of it so I know that she ate the chicken.

Yup...if I was a kibble eating ferret I would have a splitting headache all the time, no doubt. It hurts my head crunching on hard candy or ice....I could only imagine chowing on anything harder.
Sorry I have also been mia for a day or so. With the kids and Halloween....it was just this side of a nut house here! It should be better for a few weeks...until the holiday season begins full swing!
Sounds like you are doing very well! Keep up with the progress!

Update: I have been grinding up the kibble w/ broth. I've added some bigger pieces of chicken. She still isn't eating all of it but about half or more. I'm just going to keep adding more pieces until she mostly eating raw.

Update: Still just doing the kibble/broth. Today I added pork instead of chicken. All I had was pork so I figured maybe she would like it. I think she ate some but its hard to tell. I know that she doesn't eat it all before I throw it out. I don't make that much, a little over the size of a half dollar.
Its funny that you mention weight changes. I noticed today that she looks a little lighter then she used to. Is that because she isn't eating enough? I have kibble in her cage but she can only get to that when I'm sleeping. Its not open during the day because my one cat will try to get in her cage and eat it. When I give her the mix I know she is hungry I figured this would cause her to eat more of the mix but maybe she is only eating to survive? Thanks

Weight changes could be from a variety of reasons. It could be seasonal weight changes (some ferrets do things a bit backwards), so don't freak out just yet. Try spoon feeding them to get the ball rolling, or drizzle (just a teeny bit) of ferrettone or vite to entice Nibbles to try it.

Today I gave her a big hunk of chicken and a little bit of food/broth and she at the whole plate full. I have to imagine that she is getting full because when she is done eating she steals a few pieces and puts them behind the door or under the couch. Since I gave her less today she ate almost all of it which is great. The chicken pieces was a little smaller then a half dollar. I gave her a lot less kibble this time because she wasn't finishing it all and I wanted to make sure she just isn't picking around the raw food. So I think we are still doing good. I will keep you updated on the body weight. Thanks for all your help.

That's great news! Keep up the good work! Keep using less and less kibble and broth and once Nibbles is eating just raw chicken chunks start introducing her to chicken wingettes. You are doing a wonderful job!

Yesterday I made up some food with a big chunck of chicken, she wasn't having any of that. She refused to eat the food at all. I guess its back to the smaller chuncks for now.

Sounds like a plan. Don't get discouraged, sometimes you have to take a few steps back. Go back to smaller chunks and over the course of several days increase their size EVER so slightly. You'll get there. It just takes patience. Its a pain in the butt, but its SO worth it.

Try adding a few slightly larger pieces of chicken in with your current menu. She will get the hang of it! Promise.
