Well they never ate the pinkies, they were just smushed all over the floor of the cage. And it kinda looks like someone ate the tail and the legs of the mouse but its kinda hard to tell. They are running low on food so tonight or tomarrow night ill be getting them more chicken and beef and the store had chicken livers last time i was there so ill get some of them too. I havent updated that much b/c of the holidays and stuff. But im on vacation this week so i can get online more. Im trying to set up their room so they can be out more often. The door never stays shut by itself so its hard to keep them in there out of the cage all the time. Im trying to find like a gate or somthing they cant climb to put in the door way, so they can be cage free more often. Their cage is really small, i really want a FN for them but i dont have enough money... It sucks too there was some guy selling one for $300 near me on craigslist with 3 levels it was like 7 ft tall.

Some ferrets just don't like pinkies, I know Weezer will not eat rabbit pinkies but he LOVES adult rabbits.
I've been busy too, I haven't gotten the chance to look about the mice yet but I'll try to ASAP.

I got some chicken liver last night for them. I only gave them the chicken liver and gibblets last night so they would try the liver. Whenever they have their chicken wing/leg they never want to try anything else. I gave them 1 big liver to share, and when they were done there was only half of the liver left. They didnt eat all the gibblets either so i think they were just full. Im going to see if they will eat the rest of it this morning. And omg, last night i brought the ferrets into my room for the first time to run around and while i was playing with them i noticed, Jasper has fur on his tail now. And its really thick fur too. When i got him he had barely any fur on his tail and all the fur on his body was pretty thin and all scruffy and prickly feeling... not soft like regular ferret fur. Now his fur is really soft and its not as thin as it was. I know they get fluffy in the winter but hes not really fluffy, hes just not bald anymore. I never really got a good pic of it but it was most thin on his back end and his tail, and at the end of his tail was almost completly hairless. Also... Jasper is still pretty skinny. I dont think hes underweight but he hasnt quite filled in like Cesar has. Is there anything i can give him to gain a little weight? I can get a new pic of them so you can see the size difference.

Sorry again.. I intended to look about the mice Yesterday but I got a massive head ache and really couldn't do anything.
Since your ferrets are eating organ now all they need is a minimum of 3 varieties of meats (chicken, beef, pork, etc,). Once you post a weekly menu showing 3 meats, attest 4 days of raw meaty bones and 1 day with organ you'll be ready to graduate. Giuli also recommends feeding different age groups, Cornish game hens are young chickens, pullets are young turkeys and veal are young cows.
Has Jasper been checked for adrenal?? That would cause fur loss and cause him to be scrawny. Adrenal can cause loss in muscle tone which would cause his to look smaller.

I was thinking about it when i first got him. I heard about it before and since he was all skinny and was losing his fur i thought he had it.. But he was being fed wall mart brand cat food and NEVER got out of his cage for a year (before that i dont know, maybe he hardly ever got out at all) He has gotten alot muscley since ive had him. I think just becuase he was able to get out and run around every day, even when they were both being fed cheap ferret food. Im not good at telling age by their teeth either but he looks much older than cesar does. That probably has somthing to do with it. I tried taking a pic of his teeth but it kept coming out blurry...

I have posted on a rodent forum looking for mice in your area.
As for Jasper, it is possible that the poor food quality caused the poor fur and muscle tone. I would see what happens after another month or so on raw food, if he hasn't grown all his fur back then you should have a vet check him over.

Its still a little bit thiner than cesars and but quite as fluffy yet, but there arnt any bald spots anymore. Im pretty sure it was just the food, and lack or exercise that made him like that.

I got my computer back in my room, and finally it has internet. Sorry it took so long...
Cesar still isnt eating normally. He'll eat a couple bites and then stop.. Im going to cut up some chicken and mix it with warm water for him tonight... he used to really like that when i was first trying to get them to eat raw. I havent had them eat much of a variety latly, just because Cesar likes chicken best and refused any beef or liver. They have had only mainly chicken this week, legs, wings, liver, gibblets, and Jasper had 2 small peices of goat i stole from Baileys dinner to let them try. Jasper ate half of one and Cesar wouldnt try any of it.

I'm still stumpped as to why he isn't eating well, it is hard to say because most of the time when a ferret is sick it will not eat at all. He might not like the taste of raw. If you will post in ferret health and ask about it you might get some help that way.. Giuli has been too busy lately so I can't try to get her onto this thread to reply.
How did he take the warm soupy chicken??

How did he take the warm soupy chicken?? He ate a TON last night. I mixed some tiny pieces of chicken, gibblets, and liver in with an egg and some warm water and he really liked it. I know the egg makes their poops nasty but he really liked it last time, and it deffinetly worked getting him to eat. He still didnt like the liver too much but he ate a tiny piece. Maybe he just doesnt like chewing big pieces of it?

Today you should try warming his food up.. Try leaving it out so it can warm up to room temp then stick it in the microwave for about 20 SECONDS.. It is very possible that he just likes warm food... If he doesn't like that there is something else you can do.. I see your online now but I'll go brab a link for you.

Okey, if he won't take the warm chicken as well as he did last night you can try using egg beaters with yolk www.eggbeaters.com/products/yolk.jspEach 1/4 cup of it equals 1 egg so if you buy a carton of it you can mix it 50/50 with water, freeze it in ice cube trays. Every time you feed him you can give him a ice cube worth poured over his food, each 1/4 cup (an egg worth) would last 8 days so he would still only be getting 1 egg a week.. That way it isn't over kill, 1 egg a week would be a lot. Or you could do the same thing with normal eggs.. 1/4 cup water for each large egg you use.

I cut up some gibblets into really small peices and he loved it. Ill try getting him to eat some beef next. Jasper likes beef last time, but he didnt. With Bailey i usually put the bag of his food in a bowl of hot water for like an hour or 2 before i feed him. Then its pretty warm as long as i change the water a couple times to keep it hot. Ill try making it warm tonight and see how he likes it.

I gave the boys some ground beef tonight. They sat next to the plate and sniffed it for a while.. then Jasper took a lick, and LOVED it. He dove right in and started chompin down chunks of beef. Cesar wasnt to happy with this beef thing. He wouldnt try it. I got a small piece and put it next to his nose to get him to try it.. He took it then spit it out. Then i guess he decided to punish me for trying to make him eat beef, because right after he just jumped up and bit my fingure. Ive been bit by a ferret before... but man, he bit HARD. He made 3 big holes in my fingure that wouldnt stop bleeding for like 20 mins lol. d**n weasles. Then, after he took a bite out of me, he went over and started to eat the beef They both finished the plate of it. Is it ok for ferrets to have pigs feet? I have some for them tomarrow. if they dont eat them Bailey will, so they wont go to waste either way.

OMG... That is so funny!! I guess he had to kill the cow before he could eat.. Not calling you a cow, but a lot of animals are more motivated after playing "kill the animal".
The ferrets will be able to chew some skin and fat off of the pig feet but they won't be able to eat any of the bone. Let them go at 'em then give the left overs to Bailey, with some meaty meat on the side..
