In the bookmarks toolbar in my Firefox browser, Holistic Ferret used to have its own cute, little icon. I forgot what it was. I don't think it was anything original. But now it has the same icon as etsy.com. It's an orange and white E. It's been going on for a few days, even when I delete the bookmark. Does anyone know what generates the icon?

Honestly, no. I had no idea we even had a little icon thingy. I'd be interested to hear what others have to say.

I'll have to ask Dave when he has time.

My browser is IE 7, and on my bookmarks toolbar, it's simply the IE icon. A number of my bookmarked sites have these. Others have their own icons. Never even really noticed it til I read this

I use Firefox and it's always just the standard proboards icon - I've never seen anything other than that. Is it something you accidentally tweaked in the options maybe?

It used to be an icon of a blank page. But Dave says it's something the browser detects. He says sometimes two of his Google icons will switch. He said there's no way to change it, so I hope it switches soon. It's really weird.

Hi,
try this: Delete both bookmarks, go to tools > clear private data > check everything except for your saved passwords > close firefox, reopen > go to the websites and save them again.
Tell me if this works. I develop websites for a living and sometimes I have problems with the favicon as well, not the same but similar, usually it's the website's fault...usually it's just cache.

Hey, it worked! I'll have to let Dave in on the secret. Thanks so much. Do you know how I can change the icons, if I can? I'd like to save a gif of some meat or something natural/raw for this site.

Hi, GOOD! i'm glad it worked. Firefox doesn't let you change the favicon but you can download an expansion for it here: addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/7849Only add expansion packs from this URL, this is from the official mozilla website (maker of firefox). Anyways, just follow their instructions and you should be fine. Tell me if you are having problems.
