Toronto has hosted International Ferret Congress Symposiums and Ferret Aid events in the past. Niagara Falls hosted an IFC forum once, too. The Ottawa Shelter has put on parties and fests.
These aren't shows, but they are ferret-specific events. Maybe locating a shelter and ask if they know of any shows?

Randy (Ferret Aid) hasn't been very active with the events the last few years. Just staying in the game I think, she had to change her shelter location a couple of times creating a huge financial drain. I have the copies of the Ferret Congress Symposium, it had a great list of speakers with tons of information. Randy's located in Mississauga, which is about 2 hrs from here (4 if you count TO traffic ) The Ottawa group is often quite active, or at least they used to be. Too far for me to go ciao

I think thats a great idea! There are enough ferrents in the area. And it would be a great way to get the word out.

I think Randy has been super busy these days. I been calling and leaving voicemails and also emailing but no reply. I live 10 minutes away from the Shelter and wanted to volunteer and maybe look for a potential a new playmate and cuddle buddy for Fern. The closest that I got to finding a ferret get together was this one: www.meetup.com/torontoferret/

I think Randy is buried with work and ferrets. Your best bet is to probably go down and see if you can volunteer by just dropping in and talking to someone at the shelter. Have you tried emailing the shelter, or leaving a message on ferretaid@yahoogroups.com I think that's the addy. I spoke with her .... before Christmas (I called about a couple of dumped ferrets in Mississauga. As Randy was right there, and this was a pair of dumped ferrets who were in need of medical attention asap. She could get to them before I could (it would take me at least an hour). As it was one of them died before her team could get there ) Good luck, she will get back to you if she can. ciao
