I second that! I have two who use their dens, one who uses it part time, and Lucrezia who refuses to even go into it to get her food, let alone eat in it !

Hahaha mine will at least go in to get their food... whether or not they will leave it there once they have finished is another story. For some reason they'll eat in their dens, then run off to stash it somewhere else once they've had their fill

ok so Friday I tried to use a remote den a plastic one ,they would go in grab there food and run back into the cage to there soda box with it . i took the boxes out and they would not eat !!! I guess they realy like the smaller box and prefer the darkness of it more so tonight I am going to try and put the boxes in the remote den and see what they do. maybe for the ones who stash or dont like feeding dens you could try differnt types of boxes and see if they prefer a certain size or type. I use the 12 pack long soda boxes . I also have a shoe box in there cage with a few dish towels in it that they love to sleep in it only has 1 hole in the front and they never took food in except N-bones ! so far.

Let's see. I've tried beer cases, pop cases, pet carrier, cardboard pet carrier, wicker waste basket, small cardboard boxes. But Lucrezia still refuses! If the food is in there, she will not go in. If I put her in, she can't get out fast enough. And I'm pretty certain she hasn't had a bad experience with one. She went to the pet store when she was 7-8 weeks old. I got her at 10-11 weeks old. If it wasn't for the fact she loves the tunnels, I'd swear I had a claustrophobic ferret

It was just a thought maybe she will use a tunnel as a feeding den lol. She is just proud to be eating raw and wants all too see it !!! unlike my 2 shy ones

She stashes some food at the very entry to the tunnel, but won't eat it there. She doesn't get the chance , the others all steal it!

LOL for a while, Pilot was stashing in tunnels... but quickly realized that was too high-traffic to be a good place

I've given up on the feeding dens! Now, they just eat in their cage BEFORE they come out . They aren't too fond of the idea, but it's easier to find the stashes in the cage than in the house!

Perhaps surprisingly, they are actually taking to eating in the cage quite well. Maybe it's because I give the food 30-45 minutes before they are used to coming out. While they're out, the doors are closed, then they get to finish their meal when they go back in for the night.
