Hello everyone, my name is Malissa. I am from Frontier Michigan and am also a member of Ferret Village, one of the members there recommended me here. I do not feed a complete raw diet but I am going to start feeding duck soup, some raw meats and live pinkies. I already know by chance that my boys will eat whole live prey. (They got a hold of a wild rat that got in the house one day and well that was the end of him.)
My vet recommended feeding raw with their kibble because they seem to be losing some weight and he feels they need some more protein and such in their diet. So here I am, coming to learn some more about adding raw and live food into their diet.
OH! I almost forgot, my boys are Marshall and Oreo. I got them from someone who could no-longer keep them. Their landlord wouldn't allow it. I'm not sure on most of their history and he was feeding them Iams kitten chow...I am now feeding Eukanuba kitten chow

Hi and welcome to Melissa, Marshal and Oreo It's great that you've decided to pop in. It's amazing the hunting instinct in these guys My guys have hunted rats too, but I prefer to serve those guys frozen....I felt really bad when they took on one that was too big for them to get a good grip on. No animal deserves to die that way You will find a really friendly bunch here, if you're looking for some assistance getting your guys to switch please feel free to ask. They're usually more than happy to lend a hand If you're looking for a more one on one try the mentoring section to get hooked up with a personal mentor. Anyway, feel free to prowl, ask questions, answer questions, read and have a good time. We also love pictures if you have any . I hope I will be seeing you around ciao

Thanks for the warm welcome. I will definitely make sure to check out the threads posted. I actually am getting the stuff to start them out today (Meat and such) however I raise rats and mice for our snakes and would like to start them out asap as I have heard a lot of good things about whole prey and raw feeding!
