Hi, My name is Lisa. I've had ferrets for about 11 years. We current have five fur babies. My husband is from the UK and thought I was a bit odd for having ferrets, but now he loves them!
Enki = silver, age 4 Cinnamon = cinnamon, age 1 (was a DMK Ohio rescue ferret) Sophie = sable (pole cat in uk), age 4 (from shelter) Kasper = dark eyed white, deaf, age 6 months (from shelter) Kurtis = dark sable (pole cat), age 1 (had 3 homes before mine)
Kurtis and Cinnamon will eat meat, but the others I have been unsuccessful at getting them to eat it. They will all eat duck soup, but only if its made from chicken.
Currently, I am interested in finding a true polecat or polecat/ferret hybrid. If anyone has a breeder contact in the UK or Europe for a polecat (not a pole cat color ferret), I would love to hear from you. Or if you are in the UK and willing (for compensation) to work with me on this, then I would love to hear from you as well. (Its would involve going to a farmers and picking out one or two and then delivering them to the animal transport service to bring to the US. It may involve taking the polecats to a vet for rabies shots and a medical release.) They would be pets, not for breeding.
Okay, anyway, hello to all! Lisa

Hi1 are you currently in the UK? if not, there should be an exotic animal breeder in the us. I am not in the UK, though I am willing to travel if I have to. If you know of an exotic animal breeder in the US with polecats, I would love the info! I've done tons of searches through exotic listings and have been unsuccessful. Seen all kinds of other creatures for sale though, little foxes, racoons, opposums, and the like. A Russian sable (a type of marten) would be interesting as well. I couldnt find any of those in the US either. Lisa

Actually, half poley's are fine too. And next Spring, we may end up simply going with a half poley baby from a US breeder. From what I've read, you can bring them to the US as pets (but not as breeders), and whether or not they are illegal depends on state laws. But if this isn't right, please link me to the official information. I still trying to find out about quarentine regulations as well.

To find out the legality laws check out your state AND city's laws. Sometimes its legal in the state, but not your particular city.
