So my kitty, Murray, loves plastic drinking straws. They're one of his all time favorite toys next to his sparkly pink mouse and his lovey crocogator (neither crocodile, nor alligator, and with hearts down it's back. Originally a Valentine's gift for my boyfriend last year. Kitty adopted it a few months ago.) Come to find out that, to an investigating and playful white kitty, me writing out art history flash cards with felt tipped markers...looks an awful lot like playing with straws. My cat is white...the markers were many colors...I'm sure you can see where this is headed. Also, he likes making us origami snow (aka, shredding toilet paper), hiding our stuff (aka anything left on the coffee table) under the lamp table near the door, and guarding shoes. These pictures are the result: Caught in the act of hiding our stuff: Gaurding my shoes from the shiny device (aka the camera): Aaaand, several angles of the fantastic rainbow kitty (for full effect), guest starring the lovey crocogator, straws, and his origami snow: Oh kitty...what will I ever do with you

Oh my! I think rainbow kitty is trying to become like the divine unicorn so that he too will have all the magical, mystical powers of the rainbow.
I hope those weren't permanent markers. What a mess!

Washable, non toxic, and after I took the pictures I went after a damp washcloth to try and clean them up and he had himself almost color free already. Not that I'm promoting coloring a kitty, but I'm not going to worry about minimal amounts of non toxic washable markers either. The only color that really stuck around was what he got on the top of his head.
The little dork.

Oh, he hears a stern voice plenty. Thing is, I think most people would have been driven to murder by the little beast by now. He has been called by friends not a little terror, but a flat out terrorist. He's an absolute brat.
But he still has the moments where he's the sweet little well mannered cuddle-bug we brought home last summer. Granted they usually only last about 10 minutes at a time and usually involve him wanting food, realizing his plans aren't working, biting you, and tearing off to the other side of the apartment like he's being chased by an axe murderer and then spending the next 20 minutes chasing and repeatedly catching and biting his own tail. Yes he yelps when he bites his tail...and 5 seconds later he's at it again. I never claimed he had much common sense...
I call him my big fat ferret in a cat's body because really he acts just like one. He hasn't stopped acting like a kitten and he grew up with dogs, so he's that ridiculous dog/kitten combo people try to explain when they're attempting to explain ferret personalities to non-ferret people.
