I named Fugue, "Fugue" because my b/f, Tim ( Mangekyousharingan) is a classical composer. One of my favorite compositions that he's written is called "Fugue of the Twisted Mind". The song just sounds so cool, and I always though "Fugue" was a neat sounding name. It took me FOREVER to decide what to name him though, Tim can tell you all about that lol So how about you? Why did you name your fert(s) what you named them?

Well my bf really picked both of their names. And since a lot of you are WoW addicts like we used to be you'll get this more! He really wanted to name a pet noob because he thought it was super neat or something. I wanted the atron part. So we got noobatron. Then we got jitters and was going to name him mr.hands but we figured it was too mean or someone would figure out the linkage. So he wanted to name him Jitters after the NPC in uhmmm that place across from westfalls. He's like a ghost npc or something. Jitters is pretty skiddish and shy so it fit.

Ok here goes: Freedom-- hubby rescued her from the SPCA before he meet me but called her freedom because she got her freedom from there. Fatty--came with the name "Clowie" and hubby and i did not like it so we while we were trying to figure out a name for him I kept on calling him a fat rat and Fatty stuck. Snowy-came with her name TIgger -came with his name Tootise-- came with her name Crash--we got him right after step-son crashed our second car in 12 months 3 days and so we were calling him crash and thought the ferret looked like soo thats that one. Riely--named after the street where his pior owner lived. we traveled to the north part of PA we are in Philly to get him and spent an hour trying to find this little road in the middle of nowhere. Zues- came with his name Xena--came with her name Hydra--had gotton Zues and Xena not long before so we were trying to stick with the theme (Hence Andromeda the puppy). So thats how mine got their names.

i had Tansy and Thyme.... which left a lot of room for ferret Math .. we've since added Sage and Saffron...
This year we'll be adding clover ( a sweet sandy jill) and belladonna ( as dark a polecat as i can find lol )

Well, My very first ferret was Sydney. Then Tala. Fast forward 15years (don't ask why I went so long w/out ferrets, I have no idea) I adopted the pair of silvers, & liked the name Zeus, so I chose Zora to go with. A week later, Zena (my princess warrior-aka vampire ferret) came home-Zena seemed to fix & wanted to stay w/ "Z's".... Then came Zander, whom I later changed to "Xander", since I decided not to stick with "Z's". I picked Mystic after I chose her show name ("GFX's My Fabulous Secret")-I looked up words that coinsided with "secret" & mystic kept coming up, so I chose it. I had Majik picked already, as I was originally going to get a black sable from another breeder, who's line is all "M's". Then I chose his show name ("GFX's Electric Fire")-both Mystic & Majik are named after parents/grandparents in their bloodlines. Ace was named by Julie, the breeder I am getting him from, who got him from another breeder to breed/show, but he's cryptorchid, so she decided not to keep him. I renamed his show name to "NB's Caution: Flashpoint" (his dad is Helix-"SH's Caution: Flammable", & his sister is "NB's Police Line: Do Not Cross", so I kept with the themes.) I have to admit, naming the show names is fun, creating a new name from parents &/or grandparents in their bloodlines. Whew! I hope that's not too confusing.

I named my ferret Mizu, after one of the Japanese words for water (fresh water). Water is my favorite element...and I was thirsty.

Well, my grandparents died in a house fire in 2000. My aunt is 5 years older than me and we're really close. She had a female ferret named Weezer for a long time before the house fire.. The fire happened when she was at school and along with her parents her bird and Weezer died. Weezer was really sweet, even though she always pooped behind Holly's bedroom door, lol. I remember ALOT about her even though I was really little. Holly only has one picture of her and alot of memories.
My Weezer belonged to some friends of ours who we were TOLD moved back to Croatia so we hadn't seen them in like a year and a half.. One day they called and were like "HELLO?!? Did you just drop off the face of the earth".. lol. But one of the first things disscussed was if we knew of a home for a ferret.. We weren't interested at the time so we put an ad on PF classifieds. We didn't get a single real responce.. And we decided we wanted her. *Her* name was Mia. And when we started talking about getting *her* I told Holly and she started jumping up and down in the kitchen and dancing and said "Name her Weezer name her Weezer!!!". We got her after a long process of thinking.. I didn't know how to confront the friends and say we wanted her but out of the blue Alma called and said she had something for us, so even though they wanted a ton for *her* she was free. We took her home, thought a BUNCH about names, then decided on Weezer for Holly's sake. A couple days later we realized *she* was a HE. So the name fit a boy alot better anyway.
My Lillian and Jillian came here at the same time.. They were free and we weren't told ANYTHING about their backgrounds.. We checked everything we could as far as health goes and they seemed healthy. It was me, Maria, our cousin (my best friend) Alexxus, my dad and my brother in the van and we had them in a carrier.. Dad stopped at a store and we stayed with the ferrets in the van discussing names. We went through all sorts of crazy things and Jillian was a jill obviously so we settled on naming her Jillian.. Lillian is white like a white Lily so we named her Lil/Lily/Lillian. We though it was cute, Lillian and Jillian.. I said it would have been adorable if Weezer was Phillian so we'd have Lillian, Jillian and Phillian.
Anyway, I sure made those stories long enough lol. I wouldn't go back and change the names if I could.

Jack...... i named him Jack because i was in love with Jonny Depp as Capt. Jack Sparrow at the moment. nobody knew that till now... Jill... one because she is a jill, two because i already had a Jack, so Jill just kinda fit right in there Zeak... came with his name Vanilla...we couldn't figure out his name for the longest time because he wouldn't show us his personality when we first got him, and my boyfriend kept calling him Vanilla-Face, from that Borat movie. i didn't like it at first but he's definately a Vanilla. i wouldn't have it any other way and Gidget...the name just fit her right away. she was so fidgetty when i got her, we were going to name her fidget, but gidget stuck...

I think Josie "told" me her name. She was named in the truck on our way home from that horrible place she came from. Her name just "popped" into my head as she laid next to me. Josie grew to have a tomboy personality, ever the explorer, not afraid of anything but always willing to cuddle.
Faylene and Fozzy came with their names, but their former ferrent informed me she always gave her ferrets names beginning with "F". Faylene and Fozzy were the last of the five she originally had.
All of the new crew got rechristened. They originally were named Fire, Wind, Ice and Demon!
Well "fire" became "Fizzle" because her fire fizzled out when she became a natural ferret and no longer drew blood.
Wind easily became Windy ferret, sort of a one off from "Wendy girl" of Peter pan. She is an itty bitty ferret but oh so sweet.
Ice became "Crystal" sort of because she is fragile looking, but also because she is a gem.
Demon was totally previously misnamed or else his true personality emerged when he was allowed, with the rest, to free roam and be natural ferrets; he's a fairly big ferret, almost a black sable, and his eyes are big so he became "Bugsy Malone", after that charismatic italian character Bugsy Malone. He lives up to his new name too! He's a bit of a bruiser, but a lover at heart. Not afraid to get into a scuffle or push his views on someone, but quick with the smooches and ever ready to play a practical joke!
My newest guy "Roman" got his name because he is HUGE and also likes to draw blood, as in Gladiator style, I'll get YOU before you can get me! But he's getting better about that now.
Cheers, Kim

I named Fugue, "Fugue" because my b/f, Tim ( Mangekyousharingan) is a classical composer. One of my favorite compositions that he's written is called "Fugue of the Twisted Mind". The song just sounds so cool, and I always though "Fugue" was a neat sounding name. It took me FOREVER to decide what to name him though, Tim can tell you all about that lol So how about you? Why did you name your fert(s) what you named them? My husband just loved Fugue - being a musician himself, he OF COURSE knew exactly what it meant. We usually let our ferrets communicate their names to us. Ozzy - Hubby and I were struggling for a name for this sweet little goofball when he had a dream...In his dream, Ozzy spoke to him and said (now everyone probably knows I'm nuts but my husband also dreamed about people running in the streets to get away from planes falling from the sky right before 911) "My NAME is Ozzy". Upon waking, my husband looked up to the cage and asked this little guy if Ozzy is his name and he nodded in approval Princess Precious Pretty Pretty - She was just born to be a Precious! Kimba - aka Flower (of Meerkat Manor - rest in piece little one) - is a little tiny thing but she doesn't think her size will stop her from doing anything. Does anyone remember the kids cartoon "Kimba The White Lion"? Dawny Niblet - She just cannot give a kiss without adding the nibble - she'd actually prefer just to nibble but I'm working on that with her. She just can't understand why she can show affection by grabbing my husband's arm followed by a quick predator shake BUT I squeal when she does. I keep trying to tell her mom has sissy think skin and dad doesn't. I'm working on breaking her of this little nibbly habit.. Nosferretu - My husband came up with the name - derived from the infamous vampire, Nosferatu. Nos is just one of a kind! Dooki - He is just such a sweet, lovable little funyun - didn't seem to make a difference to him what his name was so we all thought Dooki was good. Spooky - I can't really say how we came up with his name....other than when he came to us he was very thin and scared. He had been adopted from the pet store and returned Broke his poor little heart. I think his 1st owner must have been a "little scary" just judging by his physical and emotional state when we got him. The day I brought him home I had ONLY gone to buy feeder fish for our polypterus but Spooky kept calling to me and literally I couldn't leave without him.
