Hello all,
My name is jackie and I am currently owned by four awesome ferrets, one dog, two kittens and a boa constrictor. They are all my babies.
They are:
Monster - sable ferret, male age 6 Smokey - sable ferret, male age 9 mo Bandit - panda ferret, female age 9 mo (she is also deaf) Mr. (Bob) Marley - not sure what his coloring is called ferret, male age 5 mo Jerron - dog border collie/ lab X female almost 3 years Willow - orange tabby kitten, male age 5.5 mo Bender- tabby/ siamese kitten, male age 5.5 mo Jazz - anerythristic (no red pigmentation) boa constrictor, male age 6 years
I found your site while looking for cage/room ideas and have been poking around reading for a few weeks now. After doing a bunch of reading my boyfriend and I have decided that it is in the ferrets best interest to switch them to a raw diet (he was a little weirded out by it at first but then I pointed out that they were made to eat meat and it was really no different then the snake...and could he see me trying to convince a 6.5 ft snake that he wanted to eat kibble). We are thinking in the next month or so....
Until then I will continue reading and poking around.
Blessings to you and your bouncy bundles of love, Jackie and the crew

Welcome aboard Jackie! I'm thrilled to hear you want to make the switch When you are ready to start go to the nutrition section. Click on the "Holistic Ferret Mentor Program" section and start a thread ther where you will post updates on the progress of your babies switch. We will then pair you with a mentor. Since you've been lurking for a while you probably know how this works If not, just ask and we can help. Post any questions you may have about natural diets in the "Newbie Questions" section of the nutrition section. Have fun, and if you need anything I'm just a PM away

Hi Jackie and welcome to you and your furbabies. Most of your little ones are very young, they should be very receptive to your new ideas of trying new foods. It's great that you've decided to assist your little ones in finding a new and healthier lifestyle. I hope that you stick around and that I will be seeing you here and there. ciao

Yeah...I like big paws too. Smoke has gotten really big the last few months (just a smidge under 3lbs) but his paws still seem huge.
Marley has big paws too and I think that he will also be a big boy.
I am hoping to expand my fuzzy family. A few weeks ago I found an add on craigslist for an albino and a DEW. They come with a FN142 and all of their stuff....guy has to move. I made myself pass them by though but figured that someone would snap them up (for the cage if no other reason).
No one has though (he put up a new post saying they needed a home asap) so I sent an email off saying we were interested. Not sure how it will work out tho...finances have been tight this month due to a lot of unexpected little emergencies (about 1000. for oral surgery another 500 for monster's foot...stuff like that) so I am not sure I can swing the 200 rehoming fee he is asking. I feel bad asking him to come down tho given that he is throwing in the cage and all (even tho he said OBO). I guess we will see.

they are adorable I love the sleepy picks alway such little angels sleeping hehehe , Well if the guy loves his guys then finding a good home wil be more important then money anyhow so nevr feel guilty about asking to lower a rehoming fee . goodluck

Yes...they do look all sweet and innocent when they are snoozin...even Bandit (my biter) looks like a little angel when she is all curled up with the boys...
I am hoping he will come down a bit on the rehoming fee. If it were next payday I would be good but this time around we are a bit strapped. I don't know what his other options are (rescue or the humane society?) but his add sounded a bit desperate.
