So I was doing my daily torturing by looking in the classifieds section in the paper. Yesterday there was a free chinchilla. My boyfriend really wants one. Me now so much my heart is ferret shaped. So theres one torture. Today I look and the chinchilla is still in there and now there are 2 free female guinea pigs plus cage (I'm sure the cage is way too small) We are both interested in getting guinea pigs at some time in the future. But right now our hearts are still set on just ferrets. So I keep looking at the section and long behold there is an add "1 yr old ferret , free to good home call....." I got all excited I wish they had posted whether is was a male or female. I mentioned the ad to my boyfriend he said sure why not as long as it has been vetted already. We both came to the conclusion we want another male right now instead of a third female. I called and it went to answering machine. I don't talk to machines so I hung up and I will try again tomorrow. I really hope it is a DEW or an Albino. My boyfriend said he doesn't really care what color. I also need to find out WHY they are getting rid of it. I suspect they will make up an excuse that they are allergic (Uh huh yea right) My mom even said she would drive me out to go get it. I hope its a big cute boy. I got the feeling he is. If its a DEW female or a cinnamon then I know for sure we will get her anyways. I'm excited!!! I hope someone else didn't get it.

Good luck, but I would be interested to see if you really could walk away from a ferret that needed a home, even if it was another sable female . Betcha can't I remember when I first started....someone handed me this little creature, covered in fleas and poopies. Urine stained because he had no litter box. He had been kept in a hamster cage for the first 9 months of his little life. The worst biter I've ever had to deal with. He had been thrown or kicked the vet wasn't sure which, it had twisted his spine and he ran with a rather lopsided hop (man could he go though). He was so enemic from the flea bites we weren't even sure we could save him. He still had the strength to bite the rescue director so hard that she couldn't pry him off her hand. She lost a lot of blood on that one . I took him, he turned into the most loving sweet little boy, he passed on 2 yrs later and I still miss the little bum (oh he was a trouble maker and a little sh** but I loved him dearly). The reason for a rehome...hmmm. Moving, new baby, allergic, mother says I can't have him/her anymore....the ultimate...he/she bites Ferrets like many other animals are disposable. I rescued a pair of ferrets a couple of years ago...they stink. About a year ago, one of my fosters calls me and tells me she doing a rescue out of such and such, didn't I do a rescue there and where. Same place, same name .... go figure...different excuse..allergic this time. Guess they think that someone will always clean up their mess Good luck....all fuzzies should have a chance at a "good" home. You will give them a good home:) ciao

I had a dream about a rather unusal looking female. I can't really explan her colors. She was kind of chocolate looking mixed with cinnamon. In the dream and ex friend of mine her sister won the ferret. (from some type of contest I guess) So when I get to see it they pull the cage out of the trunk of the car with the ferret still in it . The cage was obviously very small to fit in the trunk. It had 2 bowls of food a bowl of water and a bowl of gatorade (yellow) I told her about unflavored pedialyte and how not to give gatorade. There was not enough room for a litter box. The floor was covered in newspaper and a mix of spilled kibble and ferret litter. (probably the only good thing about the situation was the ferret litter instead of shavings) The girl had fleas or ear mites or something not sure and I told her about revolutuion which she knew about allready luckily. Her fur wasn't in the greatest condition but her body weigh was ok. I asked her if I could take her to show my mom (In the dream my ex friend and her sister lived across the street) So I get out the little girl and proceed to walk across the street and I woke up. I don't know if that is a sign or anything but I think I agree with you that I don't really care what color or sex it is. I would love to get a second rescue (even tho I paid Loki's owner for her since she came with a and all her stuff.) I still rescued her from the chance of getting tossed around homes the rest of her life. With her being my first I didn't care what color or sex. I just wanted a realatively young one so I had time with them. Anyways I called the woman twice (she sounds kind of well to do I suspect the reason of rehoming is because she kinds have no time for it but she may make up some kind of excuse, school started back a months ago.) I called again and left a message this time. I don't think she will call me back. I hope she does though.

No new ferret for me. The lady never called me back and the add is out of the paper today. Is it that hard for people to answer the phone to tell you someone took it allready? Oh well.
